GPI HEALTH Information Solutions for Health and Welfare Page 2 Company Presentation Who we are GPI provides health and social welfare solutions for public and private companies. The Mission of the Company, which has been operating on this market since 1988, is to be a leading interlocutor for the world of Health and Social Welfare and to contribute to its evolution by creating an integrated, interoperable and cutting-edge informative system that simplifies access to services by citizens. GPI SpA has its head office in Trento and is leader of the GPI group, made up of numerous subsidiaries or holdings. In 2009 the GPI turnover exceeded 8.7 million Euro, involving over 110 persons among employees and collaborators, while the GROUP closed 2009 with a turnover of more than 23 million Euro and a total staff of 380. The solutions produced by GPI are the fruit of its ability to interpret and share the Customer’s needs. The information systems proposed are flexible, configured to suit the particular necessities of the case, highly reliable and easy to use. As well as focussing on customer satisfaction, GPI is aware that it is working in a field - health care - that is extremely delicate and important for the citizen as a patient and as a member of the Community. Backed up by a profound knowledge of the IT world and by the ability to interpret and share the customer’s needs, GPI proposes targeted planning, development and consultation services and is organised in conformity with ISO 9001:2000 Quality certification standards. Customers and reference market The GPI offer is based on an organic view of the world of health and social welfare, in tune with the European Union’s directives and action plans and with national and regional regulations. The GPI proposal comprises: application software, system support, system integration, consultation on company organisation, on-line services and professional training. Nearly 300 customers already work with GPI solutions: Local Health Authorities (LHA) Public Hospitals (PH) Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Rehabilitation Institutes and Centres Residential Care Homes (RCH) Home help organisations Personal Service Companies (PSC) Social cooperatives Non Profit Foundations and Organizations (NPO) IT FOR WELFARE Page 3 Our Offer Everyday Health and Welfare A health information system encompasses all methods for processing and exchanging information, in other words communication, concerning the citizen as a patient. It must also allow, from the architectural point of view, the involvement of all the stakeholders affected by the process. GPI has applied the ERP method (Enterprise Resource Planning) in the field of health and welfare and has developed a software platform composed of a wide range of modules that allow the integrated management of the resources that take part in the production of health and welfare products and services. Our solutions provide doctors with certain and prompt information about their patients, offer administrators the possibility to check costs, and supply managers with useful information for the general improvement of the health system. But above all they allow dialogue and interaction between citizens and the different parties involved in the system. The GPI proposal consists essentially of 2 Suites: 1. E-HEALTH includes two subsystems which correspond to two large areas of intervention: the clinical-assistance subsystem and the management-administrative subsystem: IppocratE: Information System dedicated to the management of health and welfare activities in Hospital (SIO) and on the Territory (SIT) 2. EuSIS: Information System dedicated to the Administrative area (SIA) E-WELFARE Information System for Personal Services (SISP) and an ERP platform dedicated to the health and welfare territorial area Page 4 E-HEALTH IppocratE Managing clinical, health and administrative information in the local area and in hospitals IppocratE is the e-Health component designed for managing clinical and assistance processes. It is a modular and perfectly integrated ERP made specifically for Hospitals, Outpatient Departments and Bodies which, collaborating with Italian Health Authorities and Hospitals, provide health services both in Hospitals (SIO - Hospital Information System) and in the Territory (SIT - Territorial Information System). The components of the IppocratE Hospital and Local Information System share the same service-oriented architecture. It ensures full satisfaction of the demands for modularity, safety and cooperation in application, and fully complies with electronic health standards. All verticalized structures are fed with data provided by the assistance master file, that is the file of all the physical persons who have had contact with the health structure and who cooperate by means of a work flow motor integration middleware. The unique nature of the database in which all the data and information used by the various modules are organised, and the presence of middleware - that is of an intermediate platform, structured in such a way as to ensure dialogue and cooperation even with external systems - make IppocrateE an open solution, totally integrated and efficient. The way IppocratE shares operative and communicative flows is based on HL7 international standards, guaranteeing extended cooperation. The entire system may be used through a Portal with authentication by means of the Single Sign On module which, once the credentials have been loaded, allows automatic and safe access to the resources and systems for which the user is enabled. IT FOR WELFARE Page 5 E-HEALTH EuSIS An Administrative System for controlling accounting and management flows EuSIS, an integral part of e-Health, is an Administrative Information System (SIA) designed and made specifically to satisfy the needs of Public Bodies, Health Authorities and Hospitals - both public and private - and welfare structures. This parametric and flexible platform, realised according to the most modern IT standards, provides integrated control of flows of information both in the administration-accounting area, dealing with liquid funds, financial analysis, budget and so on, and in the management area, controlling management by means of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing tools. All the verticalized structures of EuSIS feed the analytical accounts and dialogue with one another through a work flow motor. Data Warehousing is structured so that it can be consulted rapidly and specifically and allows the reading and representation of analytical accounting data for strategic control by the management. The entire system may be accessed through a Web Portal. Page 6 E-Welfare ERP platform dedicated to the health and welfare territorial area E-WELFARE - Information System for Personal Services (SISP) is GPI’s answer for dealing with the transformation of the health and welfare system: an ERP platform composed of integrated and self-consistent modules for the care, support and safety of elderly and needy persons, in their own home or in local structures. The aging of the population, the increased frequency of chronic and multiple pathologies, the evolution of specialisation which leads to the fragmentation of activities, the demand for more and more qualified services and the need to keep down costs require the efficient collaboration of the professionals involved in the care of every single patient. The objective is to ensure continuity, to optimise the course of care and to use the available limited resources appropriately. These are only some of the factors that determine the evolution of Health Care towards a multiservice in the territory involving a network that comprises family members, general practitioners and specialists, social workers, care facilities, social cooperatives, municipalities, districts and contact centres. From this viewpoint it is essential to use ICT, because an efficient management of information and communication among health care operators allows the development of new models of organisation and a more accurate management of the patient and of resources. E-WELFARE System allows: the combination of all the structures in a network; the management of the administration and needs of the patients in care; the management of health and welfare data, integrating all the information useful for the care process. The information concerning the patient can be consulted anywhere and at any time by authorised operators who can learn how many people are being followed in the territory and with what problems, what facilities are dealing with them, and what progress has been made.
