General Information Family name: Papale Name: Massimo Date of birth: August 20th1978 E-‐mail: [email protected] Education 2002-‐ Degree in medical biotechnology at ”Federico II” University of Naples; 2007: PhD in Molecular Medicine of Adult and Childhood at University of Foggia; 2012: Degree of Specialization in Clinical Pathology at “G. d'Annunzio” University of Chieti and Pescara. Current Position •
Technical Director at Apuliabitech S.c.a.r.l. a SME founded by public and private stakeholders with two main core businesses: ICT and Biotechnology. ICT encompasses the development of internet sites, databases and apps for mobiles with specific focus on the use of ICT for the improvement of the health care. Biotechnology activity regards the identification of confident biomarkers of renal diseases including renal cancer, their validation and set up of specific assays for their quantitation in biological fluids. Further, Apuliabiotech is proprietary of a patent for the Renal Progression Kit that is useful to predict the progression of renal damage in patients affected by Berger's disease. Apuliabiotech's mission includes: 1) Development of new prototypal assays to test the usefulness of the more promising biomarkers (discovered by the research programs currently on going at the Unit of Nephrology, dialysis and Transplantation of the DETO dept.) for the confident diagnosis of renal disease; 2) Prototypes’ patenting to protect the intellectual property; 3)Technology transfer to interested biotechnology Enterprises to obtain the commercialization of new diagnostic kits •
