At the end of the 19th century women were expected to stay at home.
They were expected to be good daughters,
good wives and good mothers,
they received different education from men and couldn’t do the same jobs as men. In the first half of 20th century something changed:
the “National Society for Women’s Suffrage” was founded :
Emmeline and Christabel Pankhurst
went on to become the two most important figures
in the movement.
The first country to give women the right to vote was New Zealand. After more and more fighting
women obtained good results but there is still a lot of work to do. Today in some countries women can do all types of jobs and also men
can do jobs that have always been regarded only for women, without discrimination. Progetto “Dialogare nella Differenza”

The method
Dr. Montessori gave the world a scientific method, practical and tested,
for bringing forth the very best in young human beings.
The Montessori method of education is a model which serves the
needs of children of all levels of mental and physical ability as they live
and learn in a natural, mixed-age group which is very much like the
society they will live in as adults.
There are Montessori parenting classes, "Nidos", infant communities,
"children's houses" (for age 3-6) , and classes for children up to age
of eighteen in public and private schools.

She decided to build mini-laboratories in every

Biography
Biography
Rudolf Chametovič Nuriev (17th
March 1938 - 6th Jenuary 1993) was
the most important ballet dancer of
the 20th century.
World War II caused problems in
the Russian cultural life and for this
reason he joined the Vaganova
Dance Academy only in 1955.
From here, his career started. In two
years he became one of the most
important Russian ballet dancers
and, thanks to his talent, he became
an important European dancer too.
In 1992 he did his last pubblic
performance and he was welcomed
by a breathtaking standing ovation
by the pubblic.
The French Minister of Culture Jack

French cultural honor, the title of
Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des

Career
In 1961 he did an exhibition in Paris
because the first dancer of the Kirov was
injured. He was already engaged from the
Grand Ballet Du Marquis de Cuevas and he
interpreted the “Belle au Bois Dormant” with
Nina Vyroubova.
In the same period Nureyev met Margot
Fonteyn, one of the best English dancers of
her time, that became his dance partner and
friend. She introduced him to the Royal
Ballet in London,
That remains the start of his career of
dancer. With Margot he danced in famous
ballets like “the Swan Lake” and “Giselle”.
He performed in Vienna at the International
Youth Festival.
In 1972 Robert Helpmann invited him to go to Australia to direct
and interpret the movie “Don Quijote”. During the 80s he took
part in numerous films and in a tournè in the U.S.A. with a
musical of Broadway. In 1983 he was appointed director of the
Paris Opera Ballet.

Character
Nureyev was appreciated for his great
talent and for his difficult character.
Maybe his personal problem was related
with his inner conflict about his
homosexuality.
He became a celebrity in the West
thanks to his exceptional features, his
good looks and his dramatic definition.
Nureyev was notoriously impulsive and
had little tolerance for rules, limitations
and the hierarchical order.
His interests were broad and he loved to
discuss all issues, showing an incredible
wealth of knowledge in many fields.
He was very influential in the context of
classical dance:
He emphasized the importance of the roles of
men and he fell on the border between classical
ballet and modern dance.
When he discovered he had AIDS he initially, hid the
disease but, then he decided to reveal that problem
to his public.
