Dear Sirs,
Please find below our report concerning the tank cleaning operations performed on board of m/v
after the discharge of different grades of vegetable oil cargoes as per Annex 1.
The cleaning has been carried out using ECO SOLUT® 24; the operations were performed as
follows:
Starting time - 8:00pm, 5th November
1st step - Btw using sea water, 1 hour per tank at the temperature of 50°
2nd step - Btw using sea water, 3 hours per tank at the temperature of 75°
3rd step - Btw using a solution (“Solution”) composed by 1% of ECO SOLUT® 24 in fresh water, 1
hour at the temperature of 75° (“recirculation method”)
4th step - Btw using sea water, 1 hour per tank at the temperature of 75°
5th step - Btw using fresh water, 20 minutes final wash at the temperature of 75°
6th step - Ventilating, mopping and drying.
Ending time - 3.00am, 9th November
Upon completion of the 1st and 2nd Steps a visual inspection of all ship’s tanks was performed,
highlighting a quite substantial presence of cargo residuals on both the tanks bottom and on the
lower surfaces of the bulkheads; moreover, a thin yellowish layer has been noticed on the upper
parts of the vertical bulkheads (please refer to Annex 2).

Following the above inspection, at 5pm on the 7th November, we started mixing 800 Liters of ECO
SOLUT® 24, pumped directly into the Slop Port tank using a Wilden pump, within 80 C/M of fresh
water obtaining therefore a solution equal to 1%.
The Solution has been used to wash the cargo tanks, through recirculation method, 1 hour per
tank.
Following an accurate inspection, all the tanks have then been found very clean; not only the
entirety of cargo residuals had been removed on both tanks bottom and bulkheads, but also the
yellowish film was no longer visible (regrettably the fixed tank cleaning machines were not able to
reach the 100% of the tank’s surface, therefore minimal spots remained on those blind areas; as
later on proved, these spots were totally negligible to pass a cleanliness inspection).

After ventilating, mopping and drying the ship went to berth in
at 11.30am, passing the
charterer’s surveyor inspection without any problems and receiving green light to load CPP as next
cargo.
Based on the foregoing we can conclude that, ECO SOLUT® 24 performed higher than any other
solvent used by us in the past; more specifically, much less solvent and much less time were
needed to achieve the required standard of cleanliness, with the consequent economical
advantages in terms of costs for the solvent, for the fuel and for the overall efficiency of the entire
operation.
