And The Winner Was...
E ti pareva. L'anno scorso (2013) ha vinto David Bowie, due anni fa Bob Dylan che, questo è un
fatto, non sono di primo pelo né, altro fatto, artisti emergenti o sommersi. C'è chi, due anni fa, si
è scocciato: ma guarda un po' se deve vincere Dylan che è l'esemplificazione del revivalismo
terminale, con baffi da matador?
Detto fatto. Nell'editoriale che invitava a votare il disco (club) dell'anno 2014 lo abbiamo messo
in chiaro: «Il nuovo non avanza» e se c'è, è sparpagliato in mille pezzi; analisi non
particolarmente rivoluzionaria né, a conti fatti, arrischiata. Nel 2013, in fondo, aveva vinto David
Bowie.
Bene; nel 2014 vince (con un distacco di 26 voti sul secondo classificato) Sharon Van Etten,
cantautrice di marca confessionale-indie al quarto disco, esordio del 2009. Seguono Damian
Rice e War On Drugs (praticamente pari merito, esordi rispettivamente del 2002 e 2008).
Altri 30 voti più in basso: il diluvio. Tutto e il contrario di tutto, con oltre 400 dischi piazzati e il
primo dinosauro DOC al 10° posto (gli inossidabili Pink Floyd - meno di metà dei voti di
Sharon).
Cosa ci insegna quindi la classifica del disco dell'anno, oltre a non prendere posizioni nette
negli editoriali? Niente, ovviamente, ed è questo il bello.
Ci dice, qualcosa, se mai.
Ci dice che abbiamo ascoltato almeno 430 dischi (tanti sono i titoli votati) buoni abbastanza da
essere considerati dell'anno (fa più di un album al giorno).
Ci dice che abbiamo ancora voglia di votare il disco dell'anno (che in sé è un segnale di
qualcosa).
Ci dice, addirittura, che qualcuno ha votato Vasco Rossi.
E quindi possiamo indignarci.
Perché solo uno ha votato Vasco invece di mille o perché c'è ancora qualcuno nel 2014 che
vota Vasco disco dell'anno, scegliete voi.
Noi, del disco dell'anno, abbiamo fatto i conti (e votato, ovviamente); nulla di più.
Il risultato? La Regina di Disco Club 2014 è Sharon Van Etten.
Non ha commentato finora.
