construction of their ships.

Day 1:
Departure from Rome and arrival to Sersale (Catanzaro). Km 409 Pullman.
Overnight in the hotel for both levels.
Day 2 :
Path Canyon Valli Cupe.
The path, which connected since the ninth century four Basilian monasteries and later the Bourbon coal shipyards, develops into a dense oak
forest with other species of plants typical for phytoclimatic zone of Lauretum.
Along the way the visitor has the opportunity to learn about the shrubs and trees typical for Mediterranean (tree of manna, chewing gum, the
ciofeche, etc.); to rest under the shade of the trees on fourteen stop points and four pitches of coal miners, equipped with rustic wooden
benches. You can admire – among the other things - the reconstruction of old "carvunere", a "gebbia" (Arabic irrigation system), a "carcara" and
a "pagliaru".
The canyon, unique in Italy for its geo-morphological characteristics, is rich of plant species of rare beauty. Equally rich is the fauna, represented
by rare and very beautiful species like salamanders, kites, owls and common kestrels, ravens, the Egyptian vulture and many other animals to
admire and respect.
Here the nature is mixed with the mystery and the legend of the "lost" city Barbaro. The city of Barbaro, according to the myths and legends
handed down by a rich oral tradition, disappeared for the wrath of Orlando, paladin of Carlo Magno, who decided to destroy it for to defeat the
Arabs at the time of the invasion.
The waterfall Campanaro.
It’s situated in one of the most pristine areas of the region. The waterfall about 22 meters high is immersed in a paradisiacal setting, embellished
by the extraordinary color of the rock that forms the background to jump water and enriched by the presence of two tropical ferns very rare: la
Felcetta lanosa e la Pteride di Creta.
Gorge Crocchio.
In the mountain section of the ancient river Arocha, you can admire from a panoramic wooden balcony the course of the wild stream. Here by
the way you can admire the royal fern, precious and rare plant of ancient origin and of high botanical value.

Day 3 : IL SENTIERO DEGLI ALBERI GIGANTI
Park of the Giants Melitani, Path of Gentle Giant and Giant Malandrino, il Milicurciu in Sersale.
If there is still a primeval forest in Europe it will be one of the Sila. The witnesses are the Gentle Giant and Giant Melitani centuries-old chestnuts
of incomparable beauty.
The Gentle Giant is a chestnut of about 500 years old, over 8 m in circumference. It was adopted by elementary school children from Sersale. Its
name comes from the fact that this ancient temple of life was part of an extensive chestnut, which gave food to local populations; for its flavour
was called "bread tree", because with its precious pain were prepared all the dishes that today are made with wheat.
Near the giant can still observe and visit the old Bourbon Street; a carcara (still called by the ancient Greek name) a furnace for the production
of lime; and un Pastillaro, old stone building where chestnuts were dried.
The Giants of Melitani, real natural monuments that come close to 10 meters in circumference, impress the visitor for their imposing height.
These trees are the witnesses of the local history.
Finally, in the square of C. Borelli of Sersale you can see a tree of extraordinary beauty: it is a real natural monument, belonging to the species
Celtis australis, but everyone knows the dialect name - milicurciu.

Day 4 : LA TRAVERSATA DI MONTENERO
Sersale - Cagno. Km 63. Coach.
Classical crossing touches the solitary peak of Montenero the second highest in the Sila and one of the most scenic. From the top of Colli Perilli
you can admire one of the most beautiful views of Lake Arvo.
Route: Cagno - Montenero - Colli Perilli - Lake Arvo. Duration: 6 hours.
Overnight on the shore of the lake for both levels.
Day 5 : IL SENTIERO DEI CAPRIOLI
Excursion to one of the most intact and protected part of the park, safe plce for deer and wolves.
In the valley of Cecita lives the "Patriarch of the Sila"- a white fir one of the oldest trees in the park. Еру measurement of circumference on the
base is more than 6 m.
Route: Fossiata - Cecita -Cozzo Prince - Fossiata. Duration: 6 hours.
Overnight in the hotel in Camigliatello Silano for Level 1. In tent for Level 2.

Day 6: I SENTIERI DELLA TRANSUMANZA
Camigliatello Silano- Cupone. Km 20. Coach.
Long trekking in the heart of the old National Park of Calabria, touches the natural environments typical of Sila: clear lakes, endless forests of
black pine trees, gentle valleys, shady beech woods and bright high-altitude meadows.
Route: Lake Ariamacina - Macchiualonga - Colle Napoletano - Lake Ariamacina. Duration: 8 hours.
Overnight in the hotel for both levels.
Day 7:
Return to Naples
