Der Tisch ist eine Symbiose aus den Werten der
vergangenen Zeiten und der Moderne. Gerade die
Anlehnung an die frühere Lebenszeit macht den
besonderen Scharm des Modells aus.
The harmonic interplay between single elements
and carefully balanced proportions creates a clear
shape.
The table is a symbiosis build on values from the
past and modern. Especially the relation to earlier

AETAS
Die 4 cm starke aber dünn anmutende Massivholzplatte, bildet einen nahtlosen Übergang zu den
vier ebenfalls aus Massivholz gefertigten, schräg
ausgestellten Tischbeinen. Die besondere Detaillierung der Beine bewirkt eine elegante Ausführung. Diagonal verlaufende Kanten betonen die
ausgeprägte Holzmaserung der Tischplatte.
Ein Tisch in welchem Design und praktische Wünsche der heutigen Zeit harmonisch verschmelzen. Diese Mischung überzeugte auch den Rat
für Formgebung, AETAS wurde mit dem Interior
Innovation Award 2014 ausgezeichnet.
The 4 cm thick, but seemingly thin looking solid
wood board creates a seamless transition to the
four angled table legs. The particularly detailed
legs out of solid wood ensure an elegant design.
Slanted edges of the table top accentuate the outstanding wood grain.
A table, which merges design and contemporary requirements in a harmonic way.This mixture also convinced the German Design Council.

Die Eiche kommt vorwiegend aus Europa, wird
bis zu 50m hoch und der Stamm kann einen
Durchmesser von bis zu 2m haben. Die Poren
sind grob. Das Holz ist sehr haltbar. Eiche ist ein
hellgelb-braunes vereinzelt auch leicht rötliches bis
dunkel-gelbbraunes Hartholz mit einer gröberen
Strukturierung. Es hat eine interessante Maserung
mit deutlichen Markstrahlen, das Splintholz der
Eiche ist heller abgesetzt. Auffällig sind die für
Eiche typischen großen und breiten Holzstrahlen,
die das Bild als Spiegel bzw. als Spindeln beleben.
In der A-Sortierung wird nahezu astfreies Holz
verwendet. Es sind nur kleine und gesunde Äste
erlaubt. Abweichungen in Struktur und Farbe
zwischen einzelnen Teilen eines Möbelstückes
oder gegenüber anderen Möbelstücken aus dem
gleichen Material bleiben vorbehalten, soweit diese
in der Natur der verwendeten Materialien liegen
und handelsüblich sind.

The oak tree is largely from Europe; it reaches
a height of up to 50m and the trunk can have a
diameter of up to 2m. The pores are coarse. The
wood is very durable. Oak is a hard wood of coarser
texture and of a pale yellow-brown, occasionally
also slightly reddish to dark yellow-brown colour.
The wood possesses an interesting grain with
pronounced medullary rays; the sapwood of oak is
of a contrasting lighter colour.
A striking feature is the large and broad medullary
rays that are characteristic of oak wood and vivify
the picture as mirrors or stripes. In grade A nearly
knotless wood is used. Only small and healthy
knots are permitted. Variations in terms of texture
and colour between individual parts of a piece of
furniture and between entire pieces of furniture of
the same material are reserved to the extent such
variations are inherent to the materials used and
customary in the trade.

Die Bezeichnung Wildeiche oder auch Asteiche ist
ein Kunstwort. Es handelt sich dabei nicht um eine
spezielle Holzart oder eine Sonderart der Eiche.
Vielmehr dient diese Bezeichnung dazu, deutlich
zu machen, dass es sich um eine besondere
Sortierung der Eiche handelt. Es werden die
Bäume ausgesucht, die möglichst viele Äste haben
und insofern am Waldesrand oder in schattigen
Lagen wachsen. Warentypische Eigenschaften der
Asteiche sind Äste in unterschiedlichen Größen,
Ansammlungen
und
Farbunterschiede.
Die
Maserung wirkt aber durch viele Äste wesentlich
lebendiger und rustikaler. Die Farbe ist etwas
dunkler. Die Poren sind grob. Die Asteiche hat
dieselben Eigenschaften wie die normale Eiche. Die

Knotty oak
The term wild oak or knotty oak is an artificial
word. It does not refer to any specific type of wood
or to a particular species of oak. The term is, in
fact, used to refer to a special grade of oak wood.
For this grade trees are selected that have as
many branches as possible and grow on the edge
of a wood or in shady locations. Typical features of
knotty oak are knots in large numbers, different
sizes, clusters and colour variations. Knotty oak
wood has the same properties as normal oak wood.
However, due to the large number of knots, the
grain looks significantly more vivid and rustic. The
colour is somewhat darker. The pores are large.
The wood is very durable. The fascinating grain
of knotty oak is characterised by a vivid, unique
and naturally balanced appearance. Owing to its
increased number of knots and medullary ray
mirrors, knotty oak from Europe brings out the
naturalness and liveliness of this wood. Each piece
of furniture is unique with regard to the selection
of its wood material. Varying numbers and sizes
of knots, cracks, colour changes and grains give a
natural, unique appearance. For this reason, the
selection of the wood material for the showpieces
cannot serve as a binding measure for newly
delivered consignments.

Ash
Das Eschenholz ist in der Möbeltischlerei sehr
geschätzt: es ist hart, elastisch und splittert nicht.
Diese Eigenschaften wurden schon in der Zeit
der Griechen entdeckt und dienten exellent als
Waffenholz. Allerdings kann man nicht nur Waffen
herstellen, sondern auch wunderschöne Tische,
denn durch die Helligkeit vermittelt Eschenholz
Wärme. Die Maserung kann in unterschiedlichem
Licht wunderbare Effekte hervorrufen. Die Esche
ist ein hartes und schweres Holz, sie kommt aus
Europa. Sie hat eine dekorative Maserung, ist hell
mit verschiedenen Farbtönen.
Ash wood is highly appreciated by furnituremakers:
it is hard, elastic and does not splinter. These
characteristics were already discovered at the
time of the ancient Greeks, and ash was used as
excellent weapons wood. Yet not only weapons can
be made from it but also beautiful tables, as ash
wood conveys warmth owing to its light colour. The
grain can produce wonderful effects in different
lighting conditions. Ash is a hard and heavy type of
wood, originating from Europe. It has a decorative
grain, is light with different shades of colour.

Beech
Die sehr harte Buche kommt aus Europa. Sie ist
rötlichweiß bis rotbraun, hat schöne sichtbare
Markstrahlen. Die Jahresringe und Poren sind nur
wenig zu sehen. Es ist elegantes, schlichtes Holz.
Beech wood, which is very hard, comes from
Europe. It is reddish white to reddish brown and
has pretty, visible medullary rays. The annual rings
and pores can barely be discerned. It is an elegant,
unostentatious type of wood.
Kernbuche
Core Beech
Bei älteren Buchen entsteht, als natürliche
Begleiterscheinung, eine Rotfärbung des Holzes im
Stammesinneren, genannt Kern. Meist trifft diese
Kernbildung erst ab einem Alter von 100 bis 120
Jahren auf und schreitet mit zunehmendem Alter
fort. Dieser Kern zeichnet sich durch schöne, lebhafte
Färbungen und einzigartige Wuchsmerkmale aus.
Dadurch erhält das Holz einen natürlich lebendigen
Ausdruck, die durch eine geölte Oberfläche zusätzlich
verstärken wird. Holzeigenschaften, die genutzt
werden, um Möbel zu schaffen, die sich durch Echtheit
und Ursprünglichkeit auszeichnen. Die natürlichen
Färbungen und Wuchsvarianten der Kernbuche
schaffen einen individuellen, lebhaften Charakter.
Jedes Möbelstück ist ein von der Natur erschaffenes
Unikat. Unregelmäßigkeiten in Struktur und Farbton
sowie natürliche Risse im Massivholz werden vom
Kenner als selbstverständlich akzeptiert und auch
geschätzt. Sie sind naturbedingt und stellen keinen
Mangel dar.
In older beech trees, a reddish tinting of the wood
naturally occurs in the centre of the trunk which
is called heartwood. Usually such heartwood
formation starts only at the age of 100 to 120 and
proceeds as the age increases. This heartwood is
characterised by beautiful, vivid tinting and unique
growth features. These give a naturally vibrant
expression to the wood that is enhanced by oilfinishing the surfaces. These wood characteristics
are used to create furniture that is characterised
by authenticity and naturalness. The natural tints
and growth variants of beech heartwood create an
individual, vivid character. Each piece of furniture
is a unique copy created by Nature. Irregularities
with regard to texture and colour tone as well as
natural cracks in the solid wood are accepted as
normal by the connoisseur and indeed very much
appreciated. They occur naturally and are not a
defect.
Amerikanischer Nussbaum
American Walnut
Nussbaum ist im geschnittenen Zustand eher dunkel
von mittel-violett bis schwarzbraun/graubraun mit
nahezu schwarzer Zeichnung und ausdrucksvoller
Maserung. Wir verarbeiten echten amerikanischen
Nussbaum. Die dunkelbraune Farbe, zusammen
mit der feinen und trotzdem markanten Maserung,
geben dem Nussbaumholz eine ganz besonders edle
Note. In der A-Sortierung wird nahezu splintfreies
Holz verwendet. In der B-Sortierung ist der helle
Splint des Holzes mit verarbeitet und bringt einen
schönen Kontrast ins Spiel.
Walnut, when cut, is rather dark from a medium
purple to dark brown/grey brown colour with a
nearly black figure and an expressive grain. We
process genuine American walnut. The dark brown
colour, together with the fine but nevertheless
distinctive grain, lend a particularly precious touch
to walnut wood. In grade A, nearly sapwood-free
wood is used. In grade B, the paler sapwood is
used as well and makes for a nice contrast.

American Cherry
Die aus Nordamerika stammende Kirsche hat eine
dekorative, mattglänzende Oberfläche. Das ist ein
elegantes, fein strukturiertes Edelholz mit heller,

The cherry wood from North America has a
decorative, matt surface. It is an elegant, delicately
textured fine wood with a light, reddish brown colour
tone and a subtle grain. American cherry is a dark
red fine wood with a delicate yet expressive grain.

es auf Dauer seine positiven Eigenschaften behält.
In feuchten Räumen sollte auf eine regelmäßige
Lüftung geachtet werden. Auch übermäßig trockene
Luft fördert das Verziehen der Massivholzteile.
Bei unsachgemäßer Aufstellung oder Lagerung
in feuchter oder kalter Umgebung verzieht
sich das Holz. Massivholz-Möbel sollten so
aufgestellt werden, dass eine gleichmäßige
Sonneneinstrahlung
gewährleistet
ist
und
einzelne Stellen nicht dauerhaft im Schatten
bleiben, während andere Stellen dauerhaft der
Sonne ausgesetzt werden. Insbesondere sollten
Ansteckplatten nach Lieferung für mindestens 2
Monaten unter ähnlicher Lichteinwirkung gelagert
werden wie der Tisch selbst, da das Holz leicht
seine Farbe verändert.
Being a natural material, wood needs care to
preserve its beneficial characteristics over a long
time. Ensure appropriate ventilation in humid
rooms. On the other hand, overly dry air will
likewise promote warping of the solid wood pieces.
Inappropriate positioning or storing in a humid
or cold environment will cause the wood to warp.
Solid wood furniture should be positioned in such a
way that uniform exposure to sunlight is ensured,
avoiding positions where some areas remain in the
shade permanently while others are exposed to
sunlight all the time. In particular, table extension
plates should be stored under similar light exposure
conditions like the table itself for at least 2 months
after delivery, as the wood is prone to change its
colour.
Reinigung
Cleaning
Zur täglichen Reinigung werden MassivholzMöbel mit einem trockenen, eventuell feuchten,
aber niemals nassem Tuch abgewischt! Leicht
verschmutzte Stellen bitte mit Möbelseife und
Wolltuch reinigen. Bitte keinen fettlösenden
Haushaltsreiniger oder Dampfreiniger verwenden.
Sollten im Laufe der Zeit stärker verschmutzte
Stellen oder Wasserflecken entstehen, empfehlen
wir die Oberfläche mit Schleifpapier (120 - 280
Körnung) zu schleifen und neu mit geeignetem Öl
zu behandeln. Bitte beachten Sie, dass Flecken,
die durch Nässe entstanden sind, erst nach dem
Trocknen behandelt werden können! Möglichst
großflächig um die Verschmutzung arbeiten, damit
keine Farbunterschiede auftreten.
For everyday cleaning, solid wood furniture
should be wiped with a dry or, if desired, with a
dampened cloth but never with a wet cloth. Please
clean slightly soiled areas with furniture soap and
a woollen cloth. Do not use any fat-dissolving
household detergents or steam cleaners. For any
more heavily soiled areas or water marks that
may form over time, we recommend sanding the
surface with 120 - 280 grit paper and refinishing
the surface with a suitable oil.
Please note that marks resulting from wetness can
only be removed after drying. Make sure to cover a
large area around the soiled spot to prevent colour
variations.

Vor dem Einölen die Oberfläche des Möbelstücks
mit feinem Schleifpapier leicht abschleifen
(anrauen) und sparsam das Öl mit einem Wolltuch
auftragen. Kurz einziehen lassen und Überstand
mit nichtfusselndem
Baumwoll- oder Wolltuch
entfernen. Trockene Oberfläche mit dem Tuch
polieren. Alle Behandlungen in Fasserichtung
ausführen.
Care
Being a natural material, wood needs care to preserve
its beneficial characteristics over a long time.
We recommend oiling the wood 3 to 4 times during
the first year and every 6 months to 3 years after
that. Prior to oiling, slightly sand (roughen) the
furniture surface, and apply the oil sparingly with a
woollen cloth. Allow to soak briefly and remove any
excess oil with a lint-free cotton or woollen cloth.
Polish dry surface with the cloth. All treatments in
the direction of the wood grain.

Die Massivmöbel haben den Vorteil, dass Kratzer
durch das Schleifen beseitigt werden können. Die
Beschädigte Fläche mit Schleifpapier der Körnung
100-140 (je nach Beschädigung) immer in
Faserrichtung so lange anschleifen, bis der Kratzer
nicht mehr sichtbar ist. Um Farbunterschiede zu
vermeiden sollte das Schleifen immer großflächig
erfolgen. Deshalb sollte die restliche Oberfläche mit
180 Körnung feinschleifen und mit 280 Körnung
beenden. Anschließend sorgfältig abstauben und
satt das Öl auftragen. 10-15 Min. einziehen lassen,
und Überstand mit nichtfusselndem Baumwolloder Wolltuch entfernen. Trockene Oberfläche mit
dem Tuch polieren.
Kleinen Dellen mit dem Schleifpapier anschleifen.
Ein feuchtes Tuch auf die Delle legen und mit
einem Bügeleisen ausdämpfen. Das Tuch muss
ausreichend feucht sein und das Bügeleisen darf
nicht mit dem Holz direkt in Berührung kommen.
Das Holz quillt durch diesen Vorgang auf und die
Dellen verschwinden. Die Stelle völlig trocknen
lassen, mit dem Schleifpapier abschleifen.
Anschließend sorgfältig abstauben und satt das
Öl auftragen. 10-15 Min. einziehen lassen, und
Überstand mit nichtfusselndem Baumwoll- oder
Wolltuch entfernen. Trockene Oberfläche mit dem
Tuch polieren.
Solid wood furniture has the advantage that
scratches can be removed by sanding. Sand
down the damaged area with 100-140 grit paper
(depending on the damage) always moving in
the direction of the wood grain, until the scratch
is no longer visible. In order to avoid any colour
variations, sanding should always be carried out
over a large area. Smooth-sand the surface starting
with 180 grit paper and finishing with 280 grit
paper. Remove sanding dust carefully and apply oil
richly. Allow to soak for 10-15 min and remove any
excess oil with a lint-free cotton or woollen cloth.
Polish dry surface with the cloth.
Roughen small dents with sanding paper. Place
a dampened cloth over the dent and steam
thoroughly with a smoothing iron. Make sure that
the cloth is sufficiently damp and that the iron does
not directly touch the wood. This procedure will
make the wood expand, the dents disappear. Allow
the area to dry completely, sand down with paper,
then remove sanding dust carefully and apply oil
richly. Allow to soak for 10-15 min and remove any
excess oil with a lint-free cotton or woollen cloth.
Polish dry surface with the cloth.

zu bewahren, behandelt vitamin design die Möbel
mit einem für Natur-Holz-Möbel speziell entwickeltem Öl. Dieses schützt vor dem Austrocknen,
Staub und Schmutz. Der große Vorteil gegenüber
lackierten Möbeln ist dass, natürliche Öle und
Wachse tief in das Holz eindringen.
So wird das Holz gesund, elastisch gehalten und es
wird vor Austrocknung geschützt. Das Holz kann
atmen, Feuchtigkeit kann entweichen. Die Holzoberfläche bleibt natürlich matt. Die pflegeleichte
Behandlung zeichnet sich durch eine besondere
Oberflächenhärte und Widerstandsfähigkeit aus.
Dellen und Flecken lassen sich einfach entfernen
und noch nach Jahren der Nutzung sieht die Oberfläche wie neu aus. Nachbearbeitung einzelner
stark strapazierter oder beschädigter Stellen durch
einfaches Reinigen und neu ölen ist ohne sichtbare
Ansatzstellen möglich. Unsere Massivmöbel sind

Es bilden sich keine Risse im Holz?

Unsere Hölzer werden vor der Weiterverarbeitung
in speziellen Trockenöfen teilweise im Vakuum
getrocknet. Durch dieses Verfahren sind das Verziehen und die Rissbildung verringert. Doch im Laufe
der Zeit können im Holz einige Risse entstehen.
Dies ist aber kein Reklamationsgrund. Holz ist ein
natürlicher Werkstoff und reagiert daher auf Witterungseinflüsse. In der Tat ist Holz ein Material, das
sich den Bedingungen seiner Umgebung anpasst
und auf Veränderungen reagiert. Augenfällig wird
diese Fähigkeit vor allem in längeren und wärmeren
Trockenperioden, da es dann vermehrt zu Rissbildungen im Holz kommen kann. Diese Risse bilden
sich jedoch nach Ende der Trockenperiode teilweise
zurück. Risse im Holz sind vielmehr logische Folge
und Konsequenz des Rückgriffs auf einen natürlichen Rohstoff. Hierzu zählen die Umwelteinflüsse,
wie extreme Temperaturschwankungen, zu niedrige oder zu hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit, direkte Sonneneinstrahlung, Fußbodenheizung. Deswegen ist
es sehr wichtig die Massivmöbel-Pflegehinweise zu
beachten. Risse sind natürliche Prozesse, nicht ungewöhnlich und nicht vermeidbar. Sie beeinträchtigen aber in keiner Weise die Haltbarkeit und lange
Lebensdauer des Holzes.
Our wood is dried, partly under vacuum, in special drying ovens. This process reduces warping and cracking of the wood. However, some
cracks may nevertheless form in the wood. This
does not represent any grounds for a complaint.
Wood is a natural material, therefore responds
to climatic influences.
In fact, wood is a material that adjusts to the
conditions of its surroundings and responds to
any changes. This ability becomes evident during extended and warmer dry periods, as these
may cause an increased number of cracks to
form in the wood. However, these cracks partly
disappear after the end of the dry period.
Cracks in the wood are rather a logical consequence of using on a natural raw material. This
includes environmental influences such as extreme temperature variations, too low or too
high humidity, exposure to direct sunlight, floor
heating. For this reason, it is essential to follow
the care instructions for our solid wood furniture.
Cracks are natural processes, are inevitable and
not unusual. They do not, however, affect the
durability and long service life of the wood.
