E’ noto che FIAM Italia,
nella lavorazione del vetro curvato,
può definirsi unica al mondo.
Le sue creazioni rappresentano
ormai storici “capolavori”,
originali per concezione progettuale,
inimitabili per rigore stilistico
e impeccabile esecuzione.
L’idea di realizzare “miniature”
dei prodotti storici FIAM Italia
nasce nel 2000.
L’intento è quello di proporre
una collezione di opere
in scala ridotta che testimoniano
l’unicità del cristallo curvato
oltre a dimostrare allo stesso tempo
come tali opere, assunta una nuova
veste e una nuova dimensione,
possano continuare ad offrire
un’alta carica espressiva capace
di aggiungere bellezza,
poesia ed un tocco di vita in più
alle nostre case.

The idea of producing miniatures
of FIAM Italia’s most famous

The aim was to offer a collection
of works on a small scale
that would illustrate the unique
features of curved glass
as well as proving that,
even in a new form and size,

a touch of extra life to our homes.

ADMIRAL, specchio bifacciale in vetro curvato
da 4 mm, è nato come elemento di una triade
di “servi per la casa”, concettualmente legati
fra loro nell’estetica, dall’idea e dalla forma
di un’elica. Le forme eleganti e sinuose
di questo specchio conservano,
anche nella versione ridotta, tutta la loro forza
espressiva. Esso diventa così un piccolo “totem”,
gradevole oggetto decorativo da interni.
Base in ABS verniciato nero.
BABELE è una piccola torre in vetro,
il cui punto di partenza creativa ha rappresentato
la realizzazione dell’idea di un design funzionale,
arricchito da un ricercato gusto estetico.
Il modello, ridotto in una miniatura di cristallo curvato
da 5 mm, diventa una piccola opera d’arte.
Semplicità, sinuosità, stupore. Semplicità della lastra
di vetro, che la creatività del progettista ha trasformato
in un oggetto di leggiadra eleganza. Sinuosità del segno,
che trasmette un senso di morbidezza, impensabile
per un elemento apparentemente rigido e “immateriale”.
Stupore per la materia che, plasmata dalle mani sapienti
del maestro vetraio, assume la forma prevista,
con uno stile “romantico” e senza tempo.
CHARLOTTE, disegnata da Prospero Rasulo,
esprime tutto questo. Il modello è realizzato
in cristallo curvato da 5 mm di spessore.
COBRA, il portaombrelli, nato dalle mani
e dalla fantasia di Elio Vigna, entra a far parte
della serie di “miniature” ispirata ai prodotti storici
dell’azienda pesarese: un delizioso soprammobile
decorativo o, perché no, un divertente portapenne
per scrivania dalle intriganti forme sinuose.
COBRA “mini” è realizzato in cristallo curvato
da 5 mm di spessore.
La “mini” GHOST rende omaggio al modello
di poltrona, apparentemente fragile,
che conserva lo spirito giocoso ed ironico
di una seduta solida e concreta nonostante
un presunto aspetto “evanescente” e precario.
In questo senso, GHOST rappresenta l’anima
di un’azienda che accetta sempre nuove,
impensabili sfide tecnologiche.
La “mini” GHOST è realizzata in cristallo curvato
da 5 mm di spessore.
Superando l’idea della materia e usando
l’essenzialismo spaziale del vetro, nasce questo piccolo
e dinamico piano d’appoggio che vuole stagliare
nell’aria la propria forma in modo armonico e dinamico.
Il vetro si innalza aereo, tuffandosi nello spazio
e sfumando nel fondo che lo delimita
e che vorrebbe catturarlo. Grillo tiene compagnia di notte
(quando si mimetizza); Grillo è sveglio e scattante
(quando vuole mostrarsi); Grillo è piccolo e forte e bello;
Grillo è molto più utile di quanto non sembri. (Grillo“mini”

ADMIRAL, a two-sided mirror in 4 mm
curved glass, was created as one of a set
of three “household servants”, linked together
by their style, their concept and a spiral shape.
Even in the small-scale version, this mirror’s elegant,
sinuous forms retain all their expressive strength.
It becomes a little totem, an attractive interior design

unis entre eux par l’esthétique, l’idée et la forme

ist ein echtes kleines Kunstwerk.
ADMIRAL, ein zweiseitiger Spiegel aus 4 mm
starkem gebogenem Glas, gehört zu einem
dreiteiligen „Hausdiener”-Set, dessen Komponenten
in Design, Funktion und Form miteinander
„verwandt” sind. Die volle Ausdruckskraft
der eleganten, geschwungenen Form dieses
Spiegels bleibt auch bei der Miniaturausgabe

appel au caractère essentiel du verre qu’est née cette petite

Il tavolo PONTE è l’archetipo che rappresenta l’arte
del cristallo curvato e, al tempo stesso,
può considerarsi la metafora di un percorso aziendale
nella ricerca sperimentale: esemplificazione
di come una semplice piega naturale evochi l’immagine
di un’onda marina. Il deciso intervento creativo
di un valente maestro del design, unito alla sapiente
perizia artigianale e ad una costante innovazione
tecnologica, ha dato vita ad un elemento d’arredo
in cristallo curvato capace di integrarsi in qualsiasi

The PONTE table is the archetype that represents
the art of curved glass and is also a metaphor
for a company history centred around experimentation:
an example of how a simple natural curve becomes
the image of a wave of the sea. The sure creative
touch of a skilful master of design, combined with
the expertise of craftsmen and constant technological
innovation, has yielded a piece of glass furniture
that will fit attractively into any context.

La table PONTE est à la fois l’archétype qui représente
l’art du cristal cintré et la métaphore d’un parcours
dans la recherche expérimentale : un exemple
de la manière dont un simple pli naturel évoque
l’image d’une vague. L’intervention créative résolue
d’un grand maître du design unie au savoir artisanal
et à une innovation technologique constante ont donné
vie à un objet déco en cristal cintré qui s’insère
dans tout intérieur. PONTE « mini » est réalisé
en cristal cintré de 8 mm d’épaisseur.

Il modello RAGNO, ricavato da un’unica lastra,
è il primo tavolo monolitico in cristallo curvato
nella storia dell’arredamento. S’ispira alla leggerezza,
alla perfetta simmetria di una delle forme più affascinanti
esistenti in natura: nessun altro materiale,
meglio del cristallo, avrebbe potuto concretizzare
il segno progettuale di un oggetto all’apparenza
inconsistente ma, in effetti, dotato di estrema stabilità.
Il tavolo RAGNO, selezionato nel 1987 dall’ADI
Associazione per il Disegno Industriale in occasione
della XIV Edizione del Compasso d’Oro, è diventato
una miniatura destinata a chi desidera condividere
con questa azienda la gioia e la giusta soddisfazione
per l’assegnazione del Compasso d’Oro alla Carriera
in occasione della XIX Edizione di questo prestigioso
premio. Il modellino RAGNO, nella collezione

The RAGNO model, made from a single sheet of glass,
is the first monolithic curved glass table in the history
of furniture. It is inspired by the lightness and perfect
symmetry of the spider, one of nature’s most fascinating
shapes, and no other material would have been
so effective in giving concrete form to an object
apparently so delicate but actually impressively stable.
The RAGNO table, mentioned in 1987 by the ADI
Industrial Design Association at the XIV Compasso d’Oro,
has become a miniature for those who wish to share
in the company’s joy and well-deserved pride
at the award of a Lifetime Compasso d’Oro
at the XIX Edition of this prestige prize.

Le modèle RAGNO, réalisé à partir d’une seule dalle,
est la première table monolithique en cristal cintré
de l’histoire de l’ameublement. Il s’inspire de la légèreté,
de la symétrie parfaite de l’une des formes
les plus fascinantes existant dans la nature:
aucun autre matériau, mieux que le cristal,
aurait pu concrétiser le concept de projet d’un objet
à l’apparence inconsistante mais doté d’une grande

gefertigt und ist der erste jemals hergestellte
Monoblocktisch aus gebogenem Kristallglas.
Die Inspiration stammt von der Leichtigkeit,
der perfekten Symmetrie einer der faszinierendsten
Formen in der Natur – mit keinem anderen Material
konnte die Idee, die hinter dem Projekt eines scheinbar
nicht greifbaren und trotzdem extrem stabilen Objektes
steht, so gut umgesetzt werden, wie mit Kristallglas.
Der Tisch RAGNO wurde 1987 von dem ADI
(Associazione per il Disegno Industriale / Verband
für das Industriedesign) für den XIV.
