Religious Education News
Registration for Religious Education Classes for the 2015-2016 year will
begin on Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Faith Formation Office, Monday,
Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
and on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A NEW Registration Form must be completed for
ALL PRESENT STUDENTS
as well as for new students to the program
TUITION: $120 per child for 1 or 2 children, 3 or more children $295.

Riflessione del mese di maggio
IL CORPO DEL SIGNORE
Il Signore Gesù dice ai suoi discepoli: “Io sono la via, la
verità e la vita; nessuno viene al Padre se non per mezzo
di me. Se aveste conosciuto me, conoscereste anche il
Padre mio; ma da ora in poi voi lo conoscete e lo avete
veduto.” Gli dice Filippo: “Signore, mostraci il Padre e ci
basta”. Gesù gli dice: “Da tanto tempo sono con voi e non
mi avete conosciuto? Filippo, chi vede me, vede anche il
Padre mio” (Gv 14,6-9).
Il Padre abita una luce inaccessibile, e Dio è od oi, e
nessuno ha mai visto Dio (cf. 1Tm 6,16; Gv 4,24 e 1,18).
Perciò non può essere visto che nello Spirito, poiché è lo
Spirito che dà la vita; la carne non giova a nulla (Gv 6,64
Vg). Ma che il Figlio, in ciò in cui è uguale al Padre, non è
visto da alcuno in maniera diversa da come si vede il
Padre né da come si vede lo Spirito Santo.
Perciò tutti coloro che videro il Signore Gesù od oi
l’umanità, ma non videro né credettero, od oi lo Spirito e
la divinità, che egli è il vero Figlio di Dio, sono
condannati. E così ora tuti quelli che vedono il
sacramento, che viene santificato per mezzo delle parole
del Signore sopra l’altare nelle mani del sacerdote, sotto
le specie del pane e del vino, e non vedono e non
credono, od oi lo Spirito e la divinità, che è veramente il
santissimo corpo e il sangue del Signore nostro Gesù
Cristo, sono condannati, perché ne dà testimonianza lo
stesso Altissimo, il quale dice: “Questo è il mio corpo e il
mio sangue della nuova alleanza (che sarà sparso per
molti”) (Mc 14,22.24); e ancora: “Chi mangia la mia carne
e beve il mio sangue, ha la vita od oil” (Gv 6,55 Vg).
E perciò lo Spirito del Signore, che abita nei suoi fedeli, è
lui che riceve il santissimo corpo e sangue del Signore.
Tutti gli altri, che hanno la presunzione di riceverlo senza
partecipare dello stesso Spirito, mangiano e bevono “la
loro condanna” (cf. 1Cor 11,29). Perciò: “Figli degli
uomini, fino a quando sarete duri di cuore?” (Sal 4,3)
Perché non conoscete la verità e non credete “nel figlio di
Dio?” (cf. Gv 9,35).
Ecco, ogni giorno egli si umilia (cf. Fil 2,8), come quando
“dalla sede regale” (Sap 18,15) discese nel grembo della
Vergine; ogni giorno egli stesso viene a noi in apparenza
umile; ogni giorno discende dal seno del Padre sull’altare
nelle mani del sacerdote. E come ai santi od oilc si
mostrò nella vera carne, così anche ora si mostra a noi
nel pane consacrato.
E come essi con la vista del loro corpo vedevano soltanto
la carne di lui, ma, contemplandolo con occhi spirituali,
credevano che egli era lo stesso Dio, così anche noi,
vedendo pane e vino con gli occhi del corpo, dobbiamo
vedere e credere fermamente che è il suo santissimo
corpo e sangue vivo e vero. E in tal od oil Signore è
sempre con I suoi fedeli, come egli stesso dice: “Ecco, io
sono con voi sino alla fine del mondo” (Mt 28,20).

DOMINGO DEL SANTISIMO CUERPO
Y LA SANGRE DE CRISTO
Hoy conmemoramos la solemnidad del Santisimo Cuerpo y Sangre
de Cristo .
La Eucaristia es la Obra de un amor inmenso .Es la muestra de
amor mas grande por parte de
Dios . Jesucristo quizo quedarse
para siempre entre nosotros. En el desierto tomo cinco panes , los
bendijo y con ellos tuvieron los apóstoles bastante para alimentar a
cinco mil hombres . Una imagen identica de esta maravilla de
milagro es la Eucaristia. Jesús nos ama a todos y quiere darse a cada uno de manera que uno
pueda recojer la parte que le corresponde de este maná. Es necesario que se multiplique cuantas
veces lo necesiten y lo quieran , por decir asi , para que la Eucaristia cubra el mundo entero. En
esto esta el misterio de su poder .
Cuantos lo recibimos sacramentalmente en la comunión , lo recibimos entero , por que cada una
de las hostias contienen el cuerpo entero de Cristo. Cuantas hostias ha dispuesto Cristo para
darse al mundo entero? Muchas e infinitas . Para estar siempre a disposición de cada uno .
Celebremos con fe y con respeto el dia del Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo , conmemoremos una
vez mas la llegada para siempre entre nosotros de este misterio salvifico , donde Jesús se da a
cada uno de nosotros y a su vez entrega su vida en favor de quienes mas lo necesitamos.

Apartment Wanted
We are looking for a large 1 bedroom, or small 2 bedroom apartment close to St. Athanasius Church and
School (up to $1400 with water included, we pay for gas and electricity). Married couple with a 9 yr. old boy,
husky and a cat. I know many landlords don't like animals but they are trained & wonderful.

Rosary Society
The Rosarians welcome all women of the Parish. The Society is dedicated to the Blessed Mother, the growth of the
love of God through Mary. We honor the Blessed Mother by
the constant and reverent praying of the rosary in our daily
life.
We are involved in all Parish activities, liturgical and social –
and keep informed about civic community activities.
Spiritual activities include an Annual Retreat, Annual Communion Breakfast and Baby Shower for Unwed Mothers.
The Society raises money to help our Church continue outreach efforts. The fundraisers include: Christmas Fair, Basket Night, Chinese Auction.
We attend the 10:00am Mass on the Third Sunday of the
month (except July & August) followed by a meeting & light
breakfast in the School.

Holy Name Society
New members are welcome to help with our community
service work. The Society is a spiritual organization, a
fraternity of the Catholic Church, spreading devotion to
the Name of Jesus. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow!
The present Holy Name Society members dedicate themselves to corporal works in helping our Parish Organizations and School, with various fundraising. The Holy
Name meets every second Sunday of each month (after
the 10 a.m. Mass), except for July & August.
Men of all ages are welcome, especially the fathers of

Support Groups at St. A’s
Bereavement Support meet on Monday, evenings from 7:30 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday afternoons at 1:00 pm. In the Nazareth
Institute
Gamblers Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women
who share their experience, strength and hope with each other
that they may solve their common problem and help others to
recover from a gambling problem. Meeting every Friday night
at 7:30p.m. in the Nazareth Institute.
Overeaters Anonymous members talk about their struggles
with compulsive eating. Meeting every Wednesday night at
8:00p.m. in the Nazareth Institute.
Is your life effected by someone who is drinking? To help them,
you must first help yourself. Al-Anon helps families and
friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of living with the
problem drinking of a relative or friend.
Our Al-Anon Group meets in the Nazareth Institute every

In order for designated Parish Ministries & Organizations to reserve one of our rooms at St. A’s, we require you to fill out our Parish Calendar & Room Request Form. The form is available in the rectory or can be downloaded from our website. We even have an E-form so
you complete this form without writing. Just e-mail it back to us, or print it out and drop it off. All Requests must be made using our form.
E-mail completed form to AnnaMarie Scuteri at [email protected]. This is the ONLY way to reserve a room here at St. A's.
The group listed on the parish calendar is the group that has the right to use that space. If you are not a designated ministry of
our parish, permission must be granted from our Pastor, Msgr. Cassato, a rental fee is paid, and a lease agreement completed in
order to use space.
Sunday Bulletin Deadlines The Sunday Bulletin must be e-mailed to our printer by 10a.m. Monday. All announcements must be submitted in WRITTEN form only (handwritten, typed, computer, fax, e-mailed, etc) by 3p.m. Friday. Announcements received after the
deadline will be published the following week. No one on the parish staff will assume the responsibility for your ministry’s articles. Include
your bulletin articles in your advance planning for your event. All Flyers need to be approved by a staff member and submitted by Email
only to [email protected].
Our Printer Requires all Black or Grayscale Print, Clip Art & Graphics. If you submit color graphics, the printer will NOT print your
