HEM: Aim and scope
The societal relevance of health care calls for staff and
executives in health care organizations to be aware of
fundamental economic trade-offs, legal and regulatory
restraints, ethical concerns affecting the organizational logic in
this sector.
HEM is a 2-year Master Level curriculum of the “Laurea
Magistralis in Economia e Politica Economica” that uniquely
combines economics, management and law to form such a farsighted and socially responsible top executive of private and
public organizations operating in the health care sector.

Prospects
Knowledge of multiple relevant disciplines and an international
view are keys to understanding the problems that health care
systems and health care services are facing.
A master degree like HEM is supported by future employers.
o Organizations that work internationally (pharma companies, NGOs,
health insurers, regulatory agencies)
o Large hospitals and integrated care organisations
o Ministries of Health and other governmental agencies
o Universities and commercial research organisations
All of them ask for internationally and highly trained staff
in the fields of health economics, policy analyses and
health management.
