fount of life Generations have succeeded one another on this land, each one taking good care of it with loads of love and respect, handing it to the following ones, being sure it was in good hands. The land, the vineyards and the wine are the bond that unites us together, because nothing ties more than a permanent memory, a continuity of emotions that, punctually, repeat themselves, ancient and new. Always stunning. 1 At twilight, but also in midday light or in that wet of November, I stop to look at the vineyards and I know that my eyes will never be filled nor my heart will embrace them. Regardless of how perfect the songs of the poets might be, and musical, and they might touch all the strings stretched around the soul I know that still little has been told and nobody will ever succeed. The wine I choose in the moment of emotion is a silent thanksgiving to those who came before us leaving the signs of their love for this land. 2 2010 3 Our family, originally from Loro Piceno, bought, at the beginning of the 19th century, lands that were part of the Abbey of Fiastra. Subsequent acquisitions have brought the extension of the property to 300 hectares. In this place, halfway between the Sibillini mountains and the Adriatic see, Murola was created, in the mythical land of the Piceno People, those who originally followed the “Sacred Woodpecker,” as Strabo said. The Murola, today an area of excellence at the edge of a Nature Reserve and an exceptional archaeological site, is the Land that houses our autochthonous wines. Murola is a local place name, which indicates the fount used for watering the animals, for this reason lands with “muròle” on them were particularly appreciated in antiquity. Here there is one, already highlighted in the cabrei (ancient accounting registers) at the beginning of the 18th century. 4 5 The strong symbolism taken by the cultivation of the vine and the winemaking has characterized the entire civilization of the Mediterranean area up to the borders with Asia. There is a constant and indelible trace of the presence of the vine in this long journey, which begins, according to the Bible, when Noah, coming out from the ark on Mount Ararat, plants the first vine. In a series of frescoes and sculptures, but especially in the extraordinary dominance of thought, from the Egyptians, to the Greeks, to the Romans until the junction with Christian civilization, we witness the incessant blase of the wine as “Source of Life”. This image, taken from the ancient Italian civilization decorations, wants to accompany with lightness, vitality and harmony the selection of varietal wines signed MURÒLA. 6 7 RED VARIETALS AND “DOP” Le Marche is a land blessed by the two Red Wines that make central Italy great: Sangiovese and Montepulciano. To highlight in the labels the fact that these wines have no added sulphites, the 26 wine companies have chosen the logo WRT: this logo shows along its circumference the lettering “WINE RESEARCH TEAM” with a central stylized visual of a sailboat, as a methafor for dynimism, efficiency and a fair competion with the forces and laws of nature. 25 Muròla is proud to introduce the wines Vore and Lucilliano: they are the results of an engaging and passionate work lead both in the vineyard and in the winery. Teodoro Bonati. Although he lived in the 18th century Ferrara, which was at those times part of the Papal States, he was open to the stimuli of research that in that moment used to hold France as a promoting center. The logo, that reproduces the globe, is a drawing which was born in the context of the researches about the theory’s definition of free falling weights’ southern deviation. The stylized bell tower indicates the building from which they let the weights fall, to study their deviation from the vertical. This is part of the series of problems that were open by Galileo’s studies and that were connected to Earth’s rotation, a fact they were indirectly proof of. 30 31 L ’antena to Teodoro Bona ti, illuminis ta del Diciot tesimo The ancestor Teodoro Bonati, illuminist of the Eighteenth Century and “ingegnero” (engeneer), stood out in the research of the laws governing the dynamics of nature, and especially in that of the motion of the water.
