to the ceiling. conventional systems force hot air out from the top and it tends naturally to rise thus
creating a heat layer just below ceiling level. the multifuoco system instead forces hot air flow out
from the bottom vent of the fireplace, which nature may take its course. the innovative system
then allows the air to re-enter through the top of the firebox to be warmed again to continue its cycle.

le maioliche Piazzetta, lavorate in pezzi di grandi dimensioni, sono la massima valorizzazione della materia
prima utilizzata. l’argilla, infatti, acquista un pregio senza confronto, diventando un’espressione di chi la
lavora con le proprie mani.
solo una tramandata esperienza professionale consente di ottenere così ampie superfici e forme
particolari che distinguono le ceramiche Piazzetta. la produzione di un rivestimento in maiolica richiede
tempo e perizia: dopo la colata dell’impasto negli stampi ed una prima asciugatura, il pezzo viene
levigato a mano per poi asciugarsi naturalmente. a questo procedimento segue l’essicazione a 60°, per
eliminare tutta l’umidità residua, ed un’ulteriore cottura a 1000° per rendere la ceramica più resistente
e per migliorare la sua capacità di conduzione del calore. Il pezzo viene poi verniciato manualmente e
rimesso in forno per l’ultima fase di lavorazione. Per tutto il ciclo produttivo occorrono dai 12 ai 15 giorni,
con l’intervento di una decina di persone specializzate.
la realizzazione delle maioliche è una ricerca di equilibrio tra tensioni meccaniche, termiche e di resistenza
al calore. le maioliche trattengono il calore irradiato dal focolare e lo trasmettono in modo costante
e uniforme in tutto l’ambiente, creando un vero e proprio “volano termico” e rilasciando un piacevole
tepore anche dopo lo spegnimento della fiamma.

the hand-made large Piazzetta majolica elements are the epitome of what can be achieved with the
constituent raw material. the clay acquires unrivalled superior quality to become an expression of those
who shape it with their hands.
It is only through professional experience handed down directly that ceramic pieces with such a large
surface area and particular shapes as those of Piazzetta can be obtained. the production of a majolica
cladding requires time and skill: after the mix has been cast in the moulds and dried enough to take it
out, the piece is hand smoothed and left to dry naturally. this procedure is then followed by drying at
60°, to eliminate all the residual moisture, and further firing at 1000° to make the ceramic stronger and
to improve its capacity to conduct heat. the piece is then hand painted and put back in the kiln for the
last phase. It takes between 12 and 15 days to complete the whole production cycle with around ten
skilled persons involved.
making majolica is a search for the right balance between mechanical and thermal stress and resistance
to heat. majolica holds in the heat radiated by the firebox and then disperses it continuously and evenly
throughout the environment, in other words it acts as a true “thermal wheel” releasing pleasurable warmth even after the fire has been shut down.
