What is “Casas Primeiro”?
Cos’é “Casas Primeiro”
• Immediate access to individualized and permanent housing.
•
Accesso immediato ad appartamenti individuali in modo permanente.
• People are not required to participate in psychiatric treatment
or attain a period of sobriety in order to obtain housing.
•
Per ottenere gli appartamenti non viene richiesto che le persone si sottopongano a
trattamenti psichiatrici, né che si mantengano sobri per un determinato peridodo.
• Scatter site apartments in mainstream neighborhoods in
Lisbon. Apartments are not in the same building or street.
•
Gli appartamenti sono sparsi, ovvero distribuiti in diversi quartieri tradizionali di
Lisbona. Gli appartamenti non sono né nello stesso palazzo, né nella stessa via.
What is “Casas Primeiro”?
Cos’é “Casas Primeiro”
• Rental subsidy. Tenants pay 30% of their monthly income
towards rent.
•
Sussidio per l’affitto: come inquilini pagano il 30% del loro reddito mensile
per contribuire all’affitto.
• Provides – off site – services (7-24 on call) to help consumers
keep housing, facilitate recovery and community integration.
•
Provvede servizi in loco 7 giorni su 7, 24 ore su 24 per aiutare gli utenti a mantenere
gli appartamenti, facilitare il recovery e l’integrazione nella comunitá.

The impacts of housing in participants’ perceived quality of life are clearly significant.
