Genesi 2:7-8 Dio il SIGNORE

2 Nefi 2:19-23 E dopo che Adamo ed Eva ebbero
mangiato il frutto proibito, furono scacciati dal

hanno generato dei figlioli; sì, proprio la famiglia di
tutta la terra. E i giorni dei figlioli degli uomini
furono prolungati, secondo la volontà di Dio,

prova e il loro tempo fu prolungato. Poiché egli
diede il comandamento che tutti gli uomini devono
pentirsi; poiché mostrò a tutti gli uomini che essi
erano perduti, a causa della trasgressione dei loro
genitori. Ed ora ecco, se Adamo non avesse
trasgredito, non sarebbe caduto, ma sarebbe
rimasto nel Giardino di Eden. E tutte le cose che
erano state create avrebbero dovuto rimanere nello
stesso stato in cui erano dopo essere state create;
e avrebbero dovuto rimanere per sempre e non
avere fine. Ed essi non avrebbero avuto figlioli;
pertanto sarebbero rimasti in uno stato di
innocenza, senza provare gioia, poiché non
conoscevano l'infelicità; senza fare il bene, poiché

And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all
living. Genesis 3:20
Adam and Eve were the first man and woman to live on the earth (see
Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:7, Genesis 2:2122; Genesis 3:20). God blessed
them and told them to have children (see Genesis 1:28). Adam and Eve
lived in the Garden of Eden, where they could talk with and see Heavenly
Father and Jesus Christ (see Genesis 2:8).
There were many trees in the Garden of Eden. God told Adam and Eve
they could eat fruit from all the trees except one: the tree of knowledge of
good and evil. "Nevertheless," the Lord said, "thou mayest choose for
thyself ... ; but, remember that I forbid it, for in the day thou eatest thereof
thou shalt surely die" (Moses 3:17; see also Genesis 2:9, Genesis 2:1617;
Moses 3:9, Moses 3:16).
Satan came to the garden and tempted Eve to eat the fruit of the tree of
knowledge of good and evil. Eve told Satan that the Lord had commanded
her and Adam not to eat it or they would be cast out of the garden to die.
(See Genesis 3:13; Moses 4:89.)
Satan lied, telling Eve, "Ye shall not surely die" (Genesis 3:4; Moses 4:10).
He also said the fruit would make her wise so she would know good and
evil (see Genesis 3:5; Moses 4:11). Eve chose to eat the fruit. Then she
gave some of the fruit to Adam, and he also ate. (See Genesis 3:6; Moses
4:12.) When Adam and Eve heard the voice of the Lord, they hid because
they were ashamed that they had disobeyed God (see Genesis 3:8; Moses
4:14).
When God asked Adam and Eve if they had eaten the forbidden fruit, they
confessed that they had (see Genesis 3:1113; Moses 4:1719). God cast
Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden (see Genesis 3:23; Moses 4:29).
Even though they had to leave the beautiful garden, Adam and Eve
believed that God loved them, and they had faith that He would send
Jesus Christ to be their Savior.





119 Adam and Eve Teaching Their Children

And Adam and Eve blessed the name of God, and
they made all things known unto their sons and their
daughters. Moses 5:12
After Adam and Eve were driven from the Garden of
Eden, they began to work to feed and clothe
themselves. They also had a large family with many
sons and daughters. (See Moses 5:12.)
The Lord gave Adam and Eve commandments, and
they obeyed them (see Moses 5:5). They realized
that their family was a blessing and knew that if they
lived worthily, they would once again see Heavenly
Father and be able to live with Him (see Moses
5:1011).
"Adam and Eve blessed the name of God, and
[taught] all things ... unto their sons and their
daughters" (Moses 5:12). They taught their children
the gospel, to have faith in Jesus Christ, and to
repent (see Moses 5:58; Moses 6:1).
