Le Morning Glory (gloria del mattino) sono nuvole, rulli di nuvole lunghi fino a 1000 km e alti fino a 2 km Si possono
estendere anche per tutto l'orizzonte, muovendosi dall'oceano verso la terra alla velocità di circa 40 km/h. Si chiamano così
perché si formano all’alba a circa 1-2 km di altitudine quando le onde d'aria provenienti dall'oceano si scontrano con l'aria umida
e calda rilasciata dal suolo. Questi rari cavalloni di vapore si rincorrono soprattutto nei cieli del nord dell'Australia e
precisamente nel Golfo di Carpentaria.
Les Morning Glory sont des nuages, des rouleaux de nuages
longs jusqu'à 1000 km et hauts jusqu'à 2 km. Ils peuvent s'étendre
partout dans l'horizon, en se mouvant de l'océan vers la terre à la
vitesse de 40 km/h environ. Ils s'appellent de cette façon parce qu'ils
se forment à l'aube à 1-2 km d'altitude quand les ondes d'air
provenant de l'océan se heurtent avec l'air humide et chaud relâché
par le sol. Ces rares vagues de vapeur se poursuivent surtout dans le
ciel de l'Australie du nord et précisément dans le Golfe de
Carpentarie.
Morning Glory clouds are handful of well formed spectacular
roll clouds that can be up to 1,000 kilometers long, to 1, 2 kilometers
high . They can extend over the whole horizon, moving from the
Ocean to the land at the rate about 40 kilometers an hour. They are
called so that, because they are formed at dawn about an altitude of 1,
2 km, when the air waves from ocean collide with humid and warm
air from the ground. These unusual vapor rollers chase each other in
the sky of Northern Australia, exactly in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
