explain and write feelings, m0ods, reflections and ideas.
Analyzing these aspetcs, we can talk about poems and
songs…about
WATER
National poems and songs
Italy has been, during the centuries, one (or the most)
important country about culture, poems, songs, arts.
Two poets who, in very ancient times, evaluated water
by different feelings were St. Francis of Assisi and
Francesco Petrarch, who between 1200 and 1300
expressed their creativity focusing on nature.
From the Canticle of the Creatures written
by St. Francis of Assisi in 1226:
«Laudato sì’, mi’ Signore, per sor ’Acqua,
la quale è multo utile et humile et preziosa
et casta»
 Prayer permeated by a positive vision of nature,
 (May you be praised, my Lord, for sister WATER and that
'very Helpful - Precious and Pure.)

by Petrarch in 1345, inspired by
the river near the present
