The Votos FT: validating a DAMA
simulator
• In order to better understand DAMA interactions with TCP, we wrote
a DAMA module for the ns-2 simulator
• The module was validated against measurements made on Skyplex

• TFRC over DAMA is shown to exhibit
performance problems thanks to the
simulator we developed
• Quick Start (QS) protocol reduces the
startup delay
• Cross layer interaction between QS and
DAMA further enhances performance
