Monterufoli pony is an endangered equine breed native of Pisa
province, in Tuscany.
Starting from 30’s up to 60’s the equine breed was well-appreciated
for its ability in endurance, saddle and driving.
Horse training for saddle and driving uses were performed in a
single Monterufoli pony. Three more are now in proof.

The assessments showed:
- Nearly equivalent aptitudes for the saddle and driving
with similar scores.
- equivalent scores for three gaits: walk, trot and gallop
- good characteristics for character, temperament and
submissiveness
- good characteristics for yield and endurance
