Come già annunciato nei mesi scorsi, la preziosa collaborazione con l’Associazione
culturale Il Freccione ci permette di poter offrire ai nostri Soci la possibilità di
partecipare ai cicli di lezioni organizzati presso I Salesiani, in via del Ghirlandaio 40.
Il prossimo ciclo di conferenze con ascolti, tenuto da Francesco Ermini Polacci, sarà
dedicato a P.J. Kajkovskij: La vita e l’opera (musica da camera, balletti, sinfonie) di uno
dei compositori più amati e coinvolgenti.
Da martedì 28 gennaio e, successivamente, nei giorni 4 e 11 febbraio, 4 e 11 marzo,
sempre alle ore 17:30. Le iscrizioni sono aperte. Costo del corso: Euro 90,00.

A VENEZIA
PALAZZETTO BRU ZANE E TEATRO LA FENICE
Proponiamo ai nostri Soci un fine settimana a Venezia e, con l’occasione, due appuntamenti
musicali al Palazzetto Bru Zane e al Teatro La Fenice.
Il Palazzetto Bru Zane è splendido edificio costruito tra il 1695 e il 1697 e ristrutturato, con
un’opera iniziata nel 2007, dalla Fondation Bru. L’intento perseguito è stato duplice: restituire
l’edificio allo spirito dell’epoca e a quella che era la sua finalità principale, la musica. La
fondazione Palazzetto Bru Zane – Centre de musique romantique française è stata creata nel
2008 proprio per infondere a questo luogo un nuovo soffio vitale grazie alla musica.

Di seguito un estratto (in inglese e francese) della presentazione del Festival, quest’anno
dedicato a “Psiche”…
En été 2014, avec «Psyché» pour thème de notre festival, il est question de l’âme et du pouvoir
étrange et profond qu’exerce la musique. Les Anciens déjà connaissaient le pouvoir des sons et nous
ont conté l’histoire d’Orphée, dont le chant merveilleux sut apprivoiser les Furies, ou du mélancolique
roi Saül, que seule la harpe de David avait le pouvoir d’égayer. Une réalité également bien présente à
l’époque actuelle, qui prétend avoir sondé les mystères du psychisme: on sait que ceux qui écoutent
Mozart en voiture foncent moins sur les routes; il paraîtrait même que ce compositeur fait des miracles
auprès de certains patients anxieux dans les salles d’attente... Ce n’est donc pas par hasard que la
musique est souvent utilisée à des fins de propagande, pour soulever les masses ou enflammer les
peuples. Cet art fut même interdit pendant certaines périodes, tant certains princes de l’Église ou
potentats le jugeaient dangereux.
Mais comment la musique réussit-elle à pénétrer notre âme? à nous rendre heureux, à nous
émouvoir? Quelle est la sonorité de la tristesse, quelle est celle de la jubilation? Voilà les questions
auxquelles répondront, lors de ce festival d’été, des orchestres mondialement connus, de grands chefs
et de prestigieux solistes: de Claudio Abbado et de Daniel Barenboim à Mariss Jansons et à Franz
Welser-Möst, en passant par Riccardo Chailly et Simon Rattle, qui, pour la première fois, dirigera le
LUCERNE FESTIVAL ACADEMY Orchestra; de Cecilia Bartoli à Anne-Sophie Mutter, et de Lang
Lang à Murray Perahia, une belle constellation de stars vous attend. En tant qu’artistes étoiles, nous
accueillons la violoniste Midori et la soprano Barbara Hannigan; en tant que «composers-inresidence», la Coréenne Unsuk Chin et l’Autrichien Johannes Maria Staud.
With our theme of “Psyche,” the tremendous power of music itself becomes the focus in the summer of
2014. The ancients certainly understood the magic power of sounds, as we know from the myth of
Orpheus taming the Furies with his wonderful singing or from the story of King Saul, who could be
cheered from his melancholy only by David’s harp playing. And the present era, which has long
explored the secrets of the soul, avails itself of this knowledge more than ever. Thus we are told, for
example, that whoever listens to Mozart while driving is less prone to speed, and this composer is
even said to work wonders for anxious patients in the waiting room … It’s no coincidence that music
has always been used as an instrument for propaganda as well, whether to incite the masses or to stir
the people into a frenzy. This art has even been banned on occasion when it appeared to be too
dangerous for prelates or potentates.
But how is it that music manages to stir our souls? That it causes us to feel joy or arouses or moves
us? What does grief sound like – or jubilation? These are the questions which world-famous
orchestras, great conductors, and acclaimed soloists will answer. The roster of stars you can anticipate
addressing this question ranges from Claudio Abbado and Daniel Barenboim through Riccardo Chailly
and Mariss Jansons to Franz Welser-Möst and Simon Rattle, who will appear for the first time on the
podium of the LUCERNE FESTIVAL ACADEMY Orchestra; from Cecilia Bartoli to Anne-Sophie Mutter
and from Lang Lang to Murray Perahia. We’ll also welcome the violinist Midori and the soprano
Barbara Hannigan as our two “artistes etoiles” and the Korean Unsuk Chin and the Austrian Johannes
Maria Staud as our composers-in-residence.
