It allows therefore the creation of several databases, as for

the 3D stelae and cippus database and others,
concerning in particular the archaeological excavations of

example

Cavallino (LE) in a heap of
stones
dumped
by
farmers
near to a dolina at the centre
of a fenced zone of archaic
fortifications.

the
Director
of
the
Archaeological School of the
University of Lecce specified, it
is
a
fragment
(33x39x12cm)
of
a
rather
stele
badly
preserved, very splintered and
with large calcareous crusts
even on the figured area.

This example (107x51x14 cm)
has been discovered in the
ancient Messapian settlement
of “Muro Tenente” in the
province of Brindisi. It is a
stele on which we can see a
war chariot and two rows of
hoplites with helmets and long
lances.

As specified by Prof. D’Andria,
we can find in this stele, as in
the one of Cavallino, a
reticulated rectangular motif at
the lateral side, and, at the front
side,
again
we
see
a
representation in which all
elements are taken into pieces
and spread over a single plane
(this
causes
an
apparent
overlapping of the two rows of
hoplites).
