permesso la realizzazione di un prodotto
sicuro; tuttavia prima di effettuare qualsiasi
operazione, si raccomanda di attenersi
scrupolosamente alle istruzioni riportate nel
seguente documento, e di tenerlo sempre a
disposizione.

In generale la parete dove va posizionato il
prodotto non deve essere di legno o comunque
di materiale infiammabile; inoltre, è necessario
mantenere le distanze di sicurezza (riferimento
alla sezione “Prevenzione incidenti domestici”
“Distanze di sicurezza”.
•
Controllare l’esatta planarità del pavimento
dove verrà installato il prodotto.
•
Fare molta attenzione nel movimentare i
particolari in ceramica.
•
Nel movimentare le parti in acciaio del
rivestimento si consiglia di utilizzare guanti
puliti in cotone, evitando di lasciare impronte
difficili da togliere per la prima pulizia.
•
Per compensare eventuali errori di planarità e
irregolarità, in dotazione al prodotto troverete
una fettuccia di fibra vetro adesiva.
•
Il montaggio della stufa deve essere eseguito
da almeno due persone.
•
Durante il funzionamento, alcune parti della
stufa (porta, maniglia, registri, pezzi in
ceramica) possono raggiungere temperature
elevate. Fate dunque molta attenzione ed usate
le dovute precauzioni.
•
Quando dovete ricaricare di legna il focolare o
regolare l'afflusso d'aria, usate il guanto in
dotazione.
L’istallazione e l’utilizzo del prodotto deve
essere in conformità: con le istruzioni del
fabbricante, con le normative europee, con le
normative nazionali e regolamenti locali.
Nota del costruttore:
Il rivestimento della stufa è realizzato in maiolica semirefrattaria (da non confondere con altri materiali quali la
porcellana).
I “cavilli” e i “puntini” o “vulcani d’aria” presenti sulla superficie smaltata sono caratteristiche estetiche del
materiale e non influiscono minimamente sulla funzionalità e durata del prodotto.
Per i termini, limiti ed esclusioni fare riferimento al certificato di garanzia legato al prodotto.
Il costruttore nell’intento di perseguire una politica di costante sviluppo e rinnovamento del prodotto
può apportare, senza preavviso alcuno, le modifiche che riterrà opportune.

In this manual you will find all the information and advice you need to use your product as safely and
efficiently as possible.
This manual was written by the manufacturer
and is an integral part of the product. The
information contained herein is meant for the
buyer, and for all those persons who in various
capacities participate in the installation, use,
and maintenance of the product.
•
The wall where the fire is to be placed must
not be constructed of wood or any other
inflammable material; furthermore, a safety
zone must be maintained (refer to the section
“Prevention of fire in the home” contained in the
booklet for use and maintenance of the stove).
•
Carefully read the instructions and the
technical information contained in this manual
before proceeding with installation, use and any
intervention involving the product.
•
Control the proper levelness of the floor where
the product is to be installed.
•
Observation of the information contained in
this manual will guarantee the safety of the
product and those associated with it, economy
of use and a longer life.

It is recommended that clean cotton gloves be
worn when handling the steel and ceramics
covering components, being careful not to
leave marks difficult to remove during initial
cleaning.
•
Gruppo Piazzetta cannot be held responsible if
the installation, use and maintenance
instructions container in this manual are not
respected and if the product is modified.

To compensate for possible lack of planarity
and irregularities, a strip of adhesive glass fibre
tape has been provided with the product.

The careful design and risks analysis
conducted by Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A. have
permitted the manufacture of a safe product;
nevertheless before conducting any operation,
it is recommended that the instructions
described in the following document be
scrupulously adhered to and that the document
always be kept readily available.

The covering must be assembled by two
people.
•
During operation, some parts of the stove
(door, handle, control levers, ceramic parts)
can reach very high temperatures. So be very
careful and take due precautions.

When you have to stoke the fire or regulate
the air intake, use the glove supplied

The installation and use of this product should
be according to the manufacturer’s instructions,
local norms and current building regulations.

Manufacturer's note:
The stove covering is made of semirefractory majolica (not to be confused with other materials such as
porcelain).
“Shivering” and “dimples” or “volcanos of air” present on the glazed surface are esthetic characteristics of
the material and do not in the least bit effect the functionality and life of the product.
For the terms, limits and exclusions refer to the guarantee certificate attached to the product.
Diagrams and drawings are provided for the sake of example and as a courtesy free of charge. The
manufacturer, in the intent of pursuing a policy of constant development and improvement of the product,
may make any modifications he deems fitting without any prior notice.

La stufa è dotata di una porta in vetro ceramico, di spessore 4 mm, che può
essere rotto solamente a causa di un forte impatto o di un uso improprio.
Non sbattere la porta e non urtare il vetro. Alla chiusura della porta assicurarsi
che nessun pezzo di legno o altri pezzi sbattano contro il vetro.
Non pulire il vetro con materiali che potrebbero graffiarlo o danneggiarlo in altro
modo. Eventuali graffi sul vetro potrebbero trasformarsi in incrinature o fessure.
PREVENZIONE DEGLI INCENDI DOMESTICI
Installare ed usare solo in conformità con le istruzioni del fabbricante e con le
normative di abitabilità locali. ATTENZIONE: quando un tubo scarico fumi
passa attraverso una parete o soffitto è necessario applicare modalità di
installazione particolari. Fare riferimento alle normative di abilità locali. Il tubo di
raccordo del camino non deve mai passare attraverso una superficie
combustibile. Non collegare questa unità al condotto fumario utilizzato già per
un altro apparecchio.

Le parti in ceramica della stufa devono essere pulite con un detergente delicato
e un panno umido.
Non pulire mai le superfici calde in ceramica con acqua fredda. Lo shock
termico provocherebbe dei danni.
La porta in vetro dovrà essere pulita con prodotti appropriati, disponibile presso
il nostro rivenditore. Prima di procedere alla pulizia la porta dovrà sempre
rimanere aperta per qualche minuto, il tempo necessario perché si rafreddi. Se
il riscaldamento è molto lento, perché la legna non è ben secca, è probabile che
sul vetro si accumuli catrame, che verrà bruciato quando viene aperta
l’alimentazione dell’aria. Se lasciate che il catrame si accumuli sul vetro, potrete
rimuoverlo raschiando il vetro con una lametta.
Tutte le stufe di questo tipo richiedono camini ben spazzati e condotti di scarico
puliti regolarmente. La frequenza di pulizia dipende dal combustibile da
bruciare. Per le stufe a legna è consigliabile eseguire la manutenzione due volte
l’anno, con possibili variazioni secondo la natura del legno utilizzato. NON
IGNORATE QUESTO CONSIGLIO. Le parti in ceramica utilizzate sulle stufe
PIAZZETTA possono presentare, dopo un certo periodo di tempo, delle leggere
cavillature. Non è un effetto del calore né un difetto.

While you are unpacking your new PIAZZETTA stove examine all the pieces
carefully. If you should find any defect report it immediately to your supplier.
Claims for any damages caused by transport will be accepted by our insurers only
if they are submitted within a maximum of three days of receipt of the goods.
1) Put the ceramic base (1) on the floor, insert the monobloc (2) into the base and
adjust the height of the small feet so that it is level.
2) Place the ceramic cladding (3) onto the ceramic base, temporarily.
3) Hold the door frame in front of the monobloc opening. If the screwholes do not
line up, adjust the height, screwing the feet up or down. Check again that the
stove is level.
4) When the door frame is correctly aligned, remove the ceramic cladding. Put
four drops of silicone around the lower part of the cladding and put it back onto
the base.
5) Fix the frame, tightening up the four screws evenly.
6) Remove the baffle transit bolts by removing the top from the monobloc,
unfastening the two hexagonal or Philips headed bolts then replace the top and
secure.
7) Put the grill section (6) on top, mount the door (5) and then the flue pipe.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Ensure that the place where the stove will be installed is well ventilated.
Do not connect the stove to a chimney flue already used by other appliances.
Check with the relevant authorities as to the regulations in force with regard to
safety.
This stove must be connected to:
(a)a chimney flue of approved industrial manufacture, suitable for a woodburner.
(b)the chimney flue must have a minimum height of 4.5 m, (stove included).

To prevent damage from any burning embers which may fall during stoking or
removal of ashes, the stove must be placed on a base of non-combustible material
with a thickness that complies with your local current building regulations and this
must extend at the sides,rear and front as indicated in these regulations.
Note: these distances relate to a single skin, steel connecting pipe, 140mm.
diameter, designed for connection to a chimney flue of industrial manufacture
suitable for woodburner.

SITING
The stove must be installed observing the minimum distances from any combustible
item to conform with your local current building regulations.

To connect the stove to the chimney it is necessary to use a pipe with a minimum
thickness of 1mm and with the same diameter as the smoke outlet spigot. The pipe
connecting to the chimney flue must not cross through an attic or any roof space, nor
the ceiling or any other partition of combustible material.
The chimney flue should be of industrial manufacture and installed in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions.
The pipes from the stove must be installed so that the male end is downward, so that
condensation returns to the fire. Make sure that all the joints are correctly sealed.
Do not attempt to save time by taking short cuts during the installation of the stove pipe.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
WARNING
-Do not force the controls for the primary air beyond their normal range of adjustment.
-Do not burn rubbish or inflammable liquids such as diesel, fuel or motor oil, or petrol.
-Only burn dry wood.
-Whilst the fire is lit keep the door closed.
-Make sure that the room the stove is in is well ventilated.
-Do not store fuel closer than 1.2 metres to the stove.
OVERHEATING
The stove is overheated if part of the firebox or the pipe becomes incandescent or glows
with heat during operation. Close the door and keep under continuous observation whilst
this situation persists.
FORMATION AND ELIMINATION OF CREOSOTE
When wood burns slowly it produces tar and other organic fumes, which mix with the
moisture created to form creosote. The creosote vapor condenses in the relatively cold
channel of the chimney flue when the fire is burning slowly with the result that the
creosote residue accumulates inside the flue pipe. When the creosote catches fire it
produces an extremely hot fire.
The pipe connecting with the chimney flue and chimney flue itself must be checked at
least once every two months during the cold season to see whether any creosote is
present. If an accumulation of creosote is found, maintenance should be carried out to
avoid the risk of a fire inside the chimney flue.
REMOVAL OF ASH
Remove the ashes with a small fire-shovel.
The ashes must be put in a metal container with a closely fitting lid. The closed container
must be put on a non combustible base or on the ground, far away from combustible
materials until final disposal. If the ashes are to be buried or spread on the earth they must
be kept in the closed container until they are completely cold.

The air supply coming in from under the fire must be used only when lighting the fire or if
damp wood is used (normally for 5 or 10 minutes).
When the supply of air from the top is at the desired level, shut off the air coming in under
the fire. To obtain the greatest heat open to the maximum the top air control and the
lower air control.

LIGHTING
1. Put a small amount of screwed up paper into the stove.
2. Cover the paper with a small quantity of twigs and some small pieces of wood.
3. Light the paper, leaving the door slightly open. (Note: stay with the stove)
4. When the twigs are burning, close the door.
5. If necessary, regulate the air coming in under the fire.
6. Add wood gradually as the fire gets going. Never overload the fire.
A small intense fire is preferable to a large, slow burning fire. To light the fire for the first
time and to “cure” the paint, make a small fire which will last about two hours. It is normal
for the stove to give off a fairly unpleasant smell during this operation. The next time you
start the fire, level the fuel again, keep the door open until the fire lights, close the door
slowly then regulate the entry of air.
OVERNIGHT OPERATION
Using a fairly hard wood, the stove will continue to burn through the night if the wind and
draught conditions are reasonably stable.
Last thing at night make sure that the bed of ashes is low but still alight and then add fuel
before closing the door and gradually reducing the air supply.

PREVENTION OF FIRE IN THE HOME
Install and use only in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and with the local
Building Regulations. ATTENTION: when a flue pipe passes through a wall or ceiling
special installation methods should be employed. The connecting pipe from the fire should
never pass through a combustible surface. Do not connect this stove to a chimney flue
already used by another appliance.
NOTES
Output may vary from the test values depending on the actual conditions operative in the
home.
This wood stove will have a low smoke emission and high efficiency only if used correctly
and maintained in top condition.
Consult the instruction manual.

REPLACING THE GLASS
The stove door is equipped with 4mm. thick PYROCERAM glass which can only be broken
as the result of hard impact or improper use.
Do not bang the door or knock the glass. When you close the door make sure that pieces
of wood or other objects will not knock against the glass.
Do not clean the glass with materials which could scratch it or damage it in any way.
Any scratches on the glass could turn into cracks or splits.

MAINTENANCE
The ceramic parts of the PIAZZETTA stove must be cleaned with a damp cloth and a gentle
detergent.
Never clean the hot ceramic surfaces with cold water. The sudden change in
temperature could cause damage.
The glass door can be cleaned with the appropriate products, available from your retailer.
The door should be left open for a few minutes so that it has time to cool down before you
start cleaning. If damp wood has been used and the fire has burnt slowly as a result, it is
likely that tar will have built up on the glass and this will burn when the air inlet is open. If
you have let the tar accumulate you can scrape it off the glass using a razor blade.
All stoves of this type require well swept chimneys and outlet flues which are regularly
cleaned. The frequency of cleaning depends on the type of fuel burned. For wood stoves it
is advisable to carry out maintenance twice a year, but this may vary according to the kind
of wood used. DO NOT IGNORE THIS ADVICE. After a certain period, the ceramic parts
of the PIAZZETTA stove can show slight hairline cracks. This is not the effect of heat nor is
it a defect.
