The play tells the story of the fair sea-nymph Galatea.
She is in love with Aci but the clumsy giant Polyphemus
forces his attention on her and after catching them in bed,
he is killing him with a boulder.
Hence Galatea asks her father Nereo to transform Aci's
blood in a river so that she can ceaselessly rejoin him in
the sea.
