Borgofranco sul Po
La notorietà del paese di Borgofranco sul Po è
legata al suo preziosissimo tartufo bianco. Vari
sono i ristoranti che propongono piatti profumati
con il tartufo bianco assieme a piatti della cucina
mantovana e specialità locali oltre a negozi che
propongono prodotti tipici della Valle del Tartufo.
Da visitare la Chiesa parrocchiale in stile
neoclassico dedicata a San Giovanni Battista
posta ai piedi dell’argine del Po, quale baluardo
a difesa del fiume e poco lontano una lapide
dedicata ai soldati italiani caduti in Russia.
In località Bonizzo, l’ultimo dei mulini disceso
dal Po, attuale contenitore di attrezzi e cultura
contadina locale; nel mulino sono anche cu-

stoditi reperti archeologici romani e medioevali rinvenuti in loco. Nelle vicinanze si trova il
Museo del Tartufo (TRU.MU).
Per i “camperisti” è già disponibile un sito
attrezzato per la sosta dei camper. Per gli
amanti della natura sono disponibili anche
aree attrezzate all’aperto e parchi giochi per i
bambini. Un tour in bicicletta farà apprezzare
la lunga pista ciclabile naturale che è l’argine
del fiume Po, le suggestive zone boschive della golena e le stradine di campagna costellate
da storiche cappelle votive.

can also enjoy the outdoors with campsites and
parks with playing facilities for children. Explore
the natural cycle path running along the River
Po embankment by bicycle, as well as the lovely
wooded areas in the flood plain and the country
lanes dotted with historical votive shrines.

The town of Borgofranco sul Po is associated
with ultra precious white truffles. There are
numerous restaurants whose menus feature
more than just a sprinkling of white truffles as
well as dishes from Mantua and local specialities,
as well as shops selling local products from Valle
del Tartufo (Truffle Valley).
Visit the neoclassical style Parish Church named
after Saint John the Baptist, located at the
bottom of the River Po embankment, protecting
it against the risk of flooding, and the stone a
short distance away commemorating the Italian
soldiers who fell in Russia.
