Una delle ipotesi più note è quella che la fa derivare dal nome dei Brenni, una tribù germanica che si insediò sul Monte Baldo, da cui scendeva verso il lago per saccheggiare e compiere atti di vandalismo. Dopo di loro arrivarono i Romani, che hanno lasciato fondamentali testimonianze nel territorio. L’esempio più importante è il ritrovamento, avvenuto nel 2004, di una villa romana presso la Chiesa di San Zeno a Castelletto, finora unico esempio di “residenza lacustre” scavato sulle sponde orientali del Garda. I primi documenti che dimostrano una propria identità di Brenzone risalgono alla seconda metà del XII secolo, periodo in cui sorsero e si svilupparono i Comuni. Durante il periodo medioevale, Brenzone e tutta l’area gardesana passarono sotto varie dominazioni signorili: scaligera, viscontea, carrarese fino ad arrivare alla Repubblica di Venezia. In questo periodo Brenzone vide la nascita ed il consolidamento di alcune importanti famiglie proprietarie terriere. Tra tutte spicca la famiglia dei Brenzone “dal Lion”, il cui stemma è stato adottato come simbolo anche dall’amministrazione locale. Nell’Ottocento e fino ai primi decenni del Novecento non esistendo turismo, l’economia di Brenzone dipendeva prevalentemente dalle attività legate alla terra tra cui l’allevamento di bachi da seta, la produzione casearia e la coltivazione di olivi, che è rimasta nella tradizione fino ai nostri giorni. È da ricordare anche la produzione di legna e di due importanti prodotti che ne derivano: il carbone e la calce. Per la produzione di quest’ultima, destinata principalmente “all’esportazione” venivano utilizzate delle particolari costruzioni di pietra di forma circolare, le ”calchére”, visibili ancora oggi, disseminate sul nostro territorio. Le numerose malghe presenti nel comune indicano certamente una prevalenza di attività montane, ma altre importanti fonti di reddito per gli abitanti di Brenzone furono anche la pesca e la navigazione sul lago. Con il completamento della costruzione della strada Gardesana avvenuto tra il 1929 e il 1933, si verificò una vera e propria “rivoluzione” per ciò che riguarda l’economia di Brenzone e di tutta la riviera gardesana: l’avvento del turismo, che ha portato, soprattutto dopo la fine della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, un cambiamento radicale secondo tutti i punti di vista. Eine der beliebtesten Hypothese ist, dass der Name sich aus dem Namen Brenni ableitet, einem germanischen Volk, das sich am Monte Baldo niederließ, um am See Raubzüge zu verüben. Demnach haben die Römer die Seeseite eingenommen. Wichtiges Beispiel ist eine Ausgrabung einer Villa Romana (2004) bei der Kirche von San Zeno von Castelletto, bis jetzt einziges Beispiel von „Residenza lacustre“ auf der östlichen Gardaseeseite. Im Mittelalter wurden Brenzone und die Gardaseegebiete von verschiedenen Familien - Scaligeri, Visconti, Carraresi - bis zur Republik von Venedig beherrscht. Vom 18. bis zum Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts gab es keinen Tourismus, Brenzone hing von der Landwirtschaft und Fischerei ab. Natürlich kam an erster Stelle die hauseigene Landwirtschaft. Die Olivenernte ist bis heute geblieben, anders als die Seidenraupenproduktion, die damals eine wichtige Bedeutung hatte. Zwischen 1929 und 1933 wurde die Gardesana Hauptstraße gebaut, und damit kam die große Veränderung für die Entwicklung und die Wirtschaft von Brenzone und dem Gardasee. Mit dem Tourismus, der vor allem nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg begann, hat sich hier alles radikal verändert. TRAVEL GUIDE 2011 10 The origin of the name “Brenzone” is not very clear. One of the most popular hypothesis is that it derives from the name of a Germanic tribe called “Brenni”, that resided in the Monte Baldo area in prehistoric times. They were followed by the arrival of the Roman empire, whose archeologic testimonies were discovered over the years in our territory. The most important example is the Roman villa found, in 2004, near the medieval church of St. Zeno in Castelletto. During the medieval age, Brenzone and all the Garda area were dominated by the houses of Scaligeri, Visconti, Carrara and finally by Venice and its Republic. Since tourism did not exist in Brenzone in the 1800s and early 1900s, the economy of the town depended mainly on agricultural activities such as the breeding of silk worms, the production of dairy products and the cultivation of olive trees (an activity which is still part of our tradition today). The completion of the “Gardesana”, the road constructed between 1929 and 1933 on the shores of Lake Garda, brought with it a radical economic revolution for Brenzone. The arrival of tourism, especially after the 2nd World War, has triggered a profoundly dynamic evolution of events which has changed the way of life here. L’aspetto di quella chiesa doveva essere assai diverso dall’attuale: dovette essere allungata in direzione est e ancora nel corso del secolo XV in direzione ovest ed ampliata sul lato sud in linea con lo sporgere del campanile. La facciata venne poi ristrutturata in età moderna con finestra e porta in stile neogotico. L’interno, segnato dai due arconi gotici quattrocenteschi, è un’unica navata che si restringe, all’altezza del campanile, in coro rettangolare. Qui sta l’altare maggiore e la bella pala cinquecentesca; un secondo altare, eretto nel Settecento in onore di san Francesco, è addossato sulla parete di meridione. Lungo la parete di settentrione un piccolo ingresso laterale, d’epoca romanica, conduceva al piccolo cimitero contiguo. Il tetto della navata è a capriate scoperte, il coro è coperto da una doppia volta a crociera con vele gotiche. Le pareti interne, infine, conservano riquadri affrescati eseguiti rispettivamente intorno alla fine del Duecento e nel 1322. Das Gebäude, im historischen Zentrum von Castelletto, stellt ein interessantes Zeugnis der hiesigen Architektur dieser Uferzone des oberen Gardasees dar. Das Innere, mit Gerätschaften Ende des 19., Anfang des 20. Jahrhundert ausgestattet, stellt eine typische Wohnung jener Zeit dar und beherbergt charakteristische Utensilien und Arbeitsgeräte: wie Fischerei, Olivenanbau, Viehzucht und Seidenraupenzucht. 19 18 Die San Nicola Kirche (der Hl. Nikolaus, Schutzpatron der Fischer und Seeleute) in Assenza stammt etwa aus dem 11. -12. Jhd. In ihrer ursprünglichen einschiffigen Form mit halbkreisförmiger Apsis und einfacher Fassade, dürfte sie den anderen Kapellen im Gardaseegebiet ähnlich gewesen sein. Später wurde dann der Altarraum gegen Osten verlängert und im Lauf des 15. Jhd der Innenraum in westlicher und dem Grundriss des Kirchturms entsprechend auch in südlicher Richtung erweitert. Die Fassade wurde in jüngerer Zeit mit Fenster und Eingangs Portal im neugotischen Stil umstrukturiert. Der einschiffige Innenraum mit seinen beiden gotischen Bögen aus dem 15. Jhd. verjüngt sich auf Höhe des Campanile zu einem rechteckigen Chorraum. Das Dach des Kirchenschiffs wird durch einen offenen Dachstuhl gebildet, während der Chorraum von doppelten gotischen Kreuzgewölben gedeckt wird. An den Innenwänden sind Freskenmalereien aus verschiedenen Epochen erhalten. St. Nicholas church in Assenza was first built probably in the 11th or early 12th century in honour of the holy bishop of Mira, protector of seafarers. The shape of the original chapel must have been quite different from what we see today. We can infer that it must have been with a hut-like façade, a single nave and a semicircular apse. The chapel was first enlarged towards the east and in the course of the 15th century also west and southward in line with the bell tower. In more recent times the façade was given the present appearance with a door and a window in new-Gothic style. Two 14th century Gothic arches and a single nave, which narrows towards the bell tower and ends into a rectangular choir area with the main altar at the center, characterize the interior. The nave’s ceiling in rein forced with open trusses while a double ribbed vault with Gothic sails protects the choir area. The church inner walls are decorated with late 12th and 13th century frescoes. Il Museo è allestito nella casa natale della Beata Madre Maria Domenica Mantovani, cofondatrice con il Beato Giuseppe Nascimbeni, dell’Istituto “Piccole Suore della Sacra Famiglia”. Nel centro storico di Castelletto, l’edificio rappresenta un’interessante testimonianza dell’architettura propria della zona costiera dell’alto lago di Garda. L’interno, arredato con suppellettili di fine Ottocento e inizi del Novecento, riproduce una tipica abitazione del tempo, e conserva utensili e attrezzi delle attività caratteristiche del luogo: pesca, ulivicoltura, pastorizia, bachicoltura. Probabilmente fu la chiesa principale del territorio di Brenzone, surrogata poi dalla chiesa di San Giovanni Battista, a inizio ‘400. La struttura dell’edificio attuale, alquanto bizzarra, è il risultato di momenti costruttivi diversi. Ad una prima fase, forse preromanica, andrebbero assegnate le murature della parete laterale di settentrione e di quella orientale; ad una seconda, nel corso del secolo XII, la parete di meridione, le absidi e la suddivisione interna in due navate; ad una terza, nel secolo XIII, l’inserimento della torre campanaria ed il conseguente rifacimento della facciata. La facciata mostra così un unico spiovente, ma in realtà un secondo, quello della navata minore, è coperto dalla massiccia torre campanaria. Splendidi affreschi tardo romanici d’impronta bizantina si trovano sulle pareti delle navate e lungo il giro dell’abside maggiore. Die Kirche (11., 12. u. 13. Jhd.), die wir heute in ihren romanischen Formen bewundern, ist eigentlich älteren Ursprungs und wurde vermutlich auf den Resten eines römischen Heiligtums errichtet. Wahrscheinlich war San Zeno einst Hauptkirche im Gebiet von Brenzone, bevor San Giovanni Battista in Magugnago Anfang des 15. Jhd. als autonome Pfarrkirche an ihre Stelle trat. Die heutige etwas ungewöhnliche Struktur des Gebäudes ist das Resultat verschiedener Bauabschnitte. Die erste, wahrscheinlich präromanische Phase wird der nördlichen Seitenwand sowie das angrenzende, gegen Osten gerichtete Mauerwerk zugeordnet. In einer zweiten Phase im Verlauf des 12. Jhd. wurde die Kirche dann nach Süden erweitert, und es entstand sowohl die heutige südliche Seitenwand wie auch die drei östlichen Apsiden; der Innenraum wurde in zwei ungleiche Schiffe unterteilt. Im dritten Bauabschnitt zu Beginn des 13. Jhd integrierte man den Kirchturm in das Bauwerk und gestaltete die Fassade neu. So ist von vorne nur eine Dachfläche zu sehen, die kleinere über dem Seitenschiff wird durch den wuchtigen Glockenturm verdeckt. Wunderschöne spätromanische byzantinische Fresken sind an den Wänden der Seitenschiffe und entlang der Runde der Hauptapsis zu sehen. This church is probably very ancient, but the Romanesque structure we now admire dates back to the 11th -12th and 13th century. This was the main church for the entire Brenzone territory until the Church of Saint John the Baptist in Magugnano replaced it. The present building is the result of three different construction phases: first the construction of the northern and eastern walls; then the building of the apses, the two naves, and the southern wall during the 12th century and finally the bell tower and the reconstruction of the façade in the 13th century. Madre Maria Domenica Mantovani, cofondatrice delle Piccole Suore della Sacra Famiglia (1862-1934) è stata proclamata Beata dal Papa Giovanni Paolo II il 27 aprile 2003 a Roma. 22 A testimonianza della forte fede radicata nella nostra gente, segnaliamo anche don Francesco Angeleri (1821-1892), profondo conoscitore e difensore del pensiero filosofico rosminiano. TRAVEL GUIDE 2011 LA “PIETRA DI CASTELLETTO” DER “STEIN VON CASTELLETTO” THE “STONE OF CASTELLETTO” Nel 1965 Castelletto divenne improvvisamente famoso grazie al ritrovamento di un masso roccioso di circa 2 mc con incisioni rupestri, avvenuto durante la costruzione di una casa. Queste incisioni risalgono a circa 4.550 anni fa, indicandoci l’uso di utensili ed armi in bronzo, il ruolo importante del sole nella religione. In altre parole, erano già portatori dell’estesa cultura mediterranea. La “Pietra di Castelletto” è ora custodita nel Municipio di Brenzone, a Magugnano. Unico caso in europa al di fuori dell’area preistorica della Valcamonica con tale particolare modalità di incisione. REPERTO ARCHEOLOGICO 1965 machte Castelletto sehr von sich reden. Man fand beim Hausbau einen fast 2 Quadratmeter großen Felsblock, der mit hieroglyphischen Felseinritzungen bedeckt war. Es war die erste authentische Mitteilung der Bevölkerung an die Nachwelt, es war eine Nachricht von vor 4500 Jahren. Sie berichtet, dass hier am See, die Bewohner schon ihre Bronzenspeere, Schwerter und Äxte hatten und dass die Sonne eine große Rolle in ihrer Religion spielte. Heute ist der “Stein von Castelletto” im Gemeindehaus von Brenzone in Magugnano zu bestaunen. In 1965 Castelletto was very much in the News. While building a new house, 23 the workers excavated a massive rock which was covered with mysterious incisions. The incisions where dated as from the years 4500 b.C., the first authentic message of the inhabitants of Castelletto. It reports that they had already weapons in brass and that the sun played an important role in their religion. Nowadays you can admire the “Stone of Castelletto” in the town hall of Brenzone, in Magugnano. TRAVEL GUIDE 2011 LA VILLA ROMANA DIE RÖMISCHE VILLA THE ROMAN VILLA REPERTO ARCHEOLOGICO Nel 2004, durante i lavori di ampliamento del cimitero di Castelletto di Brenzone, è emerso un eccezionale complesso di strutture murarie pertinenti ad una villa romana. La villa di Castelletto è l’unica villa romana finora scavata sulle sponde orientali del Garda. La straordinaria conservazione delle murature la connotano indubbiamente come uno dei più significativi esempi di strutture residenziali di età romana finora messi in luce nell’attuale territorio veneto. La villa, definibile di tipo “residenziale lacustre”, era articolata su più terrazze degradanti verso il lago. La parte residenziale del complesso, della quale è stato recentemente messo in luce un ambiente pavimentato a mosaico e con impianto di riscaldamento ad 24 hypocaustum, doveva estendersi all’area attualmente occupata dal cimitero. Le vicende della villa si intrecciano ad un certo punto con quelle del vicino edificio di culto: i recenti scavi condotti nella chiesa di San Zeno, attualmente conservata nelle forme assunte in epoca romana, inducono a ipotizzare un primo momento costruttivo in età alto-medioevale (probabilmente longobarda). Gli scavi e lo studio dei materiali permetteranno di verificare se esistano delle sincronie tra le ultime fasi di frequentazione della villa e la fondazione dell’edificio. La chiesa si imposta sulle strutture della villa, riutilizzandone elementi costruttivi e decorativi. I due capitelli di marmo bianco databili al I secolo d.C. e reimpiegati nel colonnato sono certamente pertinenti al sottostante complesso di età romana. Zum Vorschein kam damals eine außergewöhnliche Anlage mit Mauerwerk. Die römische Villa von Castelletto ist die einzige ihrer Art am Ostufer des Gardasees. Auf Grund des sehr gut erhaltenen Mauerwerks zählt die Villa zu einer der wichtigsten Wohnanlagen aus römischer Epoche, die bisher auf Venetischen Gebiet entdeckt wurden. Die Villa kann als „See-Residenz“ bezeichnet werden. Sie entwickelte sich über mehrere zum See hin abfallenden Terrassen. Die Fußböden befinden sich auf verschieden Ebenen auf den beiden wichtigsten Terrassen. Die Präsenz eines Wandelganges deutet darauf hin, dass einst eine weitere - heute nicht mehr existierende Ebene - vorhanden war. Durch die Mauerschichten wird bestätigt, dass es sich bei dem Gebäude um ein recht altes Gebäude handelt. Die bei den Ausgrabungen freigelegten Mauern sind Teil der letzten Nutzungsphase des Gebäudes und werden auf die Zeit, zwischen der Spätantike und des hohen Mittelalters geschätzt. The villa of Roman époque was discovered in 2004. During the excavations for the enlargement of Castelletto’s cemetery, an exceptional complex of building structures came to light. We can define the Roman villa of Castelletto as unique in its category, so far excavated on the eastern shore of Garda lake. The really well-maintained villa is moreover one of the best example of Roman residential structure on the Veneto region. The building, one of the so-called “lake houses”, was structured on several terraces scenically sloping to the lake. Until now, the excavated rooms show floors on different levels, situated on two main terraces. The finding of a vaulting corridor suggests the presence of a superior, even if no more traceable, floor. Observing the building stratifications it is clear that the structure has been more recently used (probably between Late and High Middle Ages). 25 TRAVEL GUIDE 2011 SAN PIETRO A CAMPO CHIESA MEDIOEVALE Bereits 1023 wird der Ort Campo in Dokumenten erwähnt, einen konkreten Hinweis auf die Existenz der San Pietro Kirche zu jener Zeit gibt es jedoch nicht. Die Hypothese, sie wäre mit der in einer Papstbulle 1159 genannten Kirche der Heiligen Simone, Giuda und Giovanni identisch, ist ebenso umstritten wie die vom österreichischen Archeologen Martin Bitschnau auf Grund von Maueranalysen vorgezogene Datierung in das 11. Jhd. Gebaut ist die Kirche in dem noch weit über das 14. Jhd hinaus üblichen ländlich-romanischen Stil, mit einer halbkreisförmigen Apsis und einer einfachen, nach Westen gerichteten Fassade, die allerdings im 18. Jhd vollständig erneuert wurde. Der schlichte einschiffige Innenraum mit seiner schmucklosen Mensa erfährt durch die bereits erwähnten faszinierenden Wandmalereien an Seitenwänden und Apsis eine ganz besondere Bereicherung. 1358 wurden sie von Meister Giorgio da Riva geschaffen. 27 Se il buon Giorno si vede dal mattino... • Am Morgen erkennt man den Tag... Secondo alcuni andrebbe identificata con la cappella dei Santi Simone e Giuda, ricordata in una bolla pontificia del 1159, ma l’ipotesi non è sostenuta né da documenti, né da argomenti plausibili. L’edificio si presenta ora con la facciata interamente rifatta nel Settecento, ma che comunque mantiene l’originale struttura a capanna orientata ad ovest caratteristica insieme all’abside a pianta semicircolare di un’architettura romanica “minore”. L’interno propone un’unica navata che, attraverso l’arco trionfale, conduce alla spoglia mensa dell’altare e all’abside. Una struttura essenziale, impreziosita però dal corredo pittorico che si stende sull’arcata e catino absidali e sulle pareti laterali. Si tratta di affreschi eseguiti nel 1358 dal maestro Giorgio da Riva. The existence of Campo, as a village, dates back to 1023. Archaeologists recently stated that the building could probably be dated even before the 12th century. The church façade we see today was completely renovated during the 1700s. It retains, however, the original hutlike Romanesque structure facing west. The interior resumes the style already defined by the exterior, namely,. The essential structure of the interior, a single nave surmounted by a triumphal arch leading to a bare altar and the apse, is enriched by a profusion of paintings and frescos completed in 1358 by master painter Giorgio da Riva unfolding from the arch above and the apse unto the sidewalls. TRAVEL GUIDE 2011 SANT’ANTONIO A BIAZA Non si conoscono con certezza le origini della chiesa di Sant’Antonio Abate in contrada di Biaza. Un affresco sulla parete esterna, databile intorno alla seconda metà del '300 o tuttalpiù al primo '400, testimonia la presenza della chiesa almeno a partire da quel periodo. Essa, come testimonierebbe pure la presenza del piccolo cimitero, dovette servire alle esigenze spirituali della gente di Biaza. L’edificio che ora vediamo è sostanzialmente l’originale, edificato ancora secondo i criteri dell’architettura romanica: la facciata orientata verso ovest, il campanile coevo che s’erge di fianco, con ampie monofore a dar luce alla cella campanaria. L’interno propone una tozza navata che conduce all’abside a pianta semicircolare e all’unico altare ed è decorato da pitture del ‘400 e dei primi anni del ‘500. 28 TRAVEL GUIDE 2011 CHIESA MEDIOEVALE Einige Legenden berichten zwar von einer bereits im Hochmittelalter existierenden Burgkapelle in Biaza; Dokumente über die Entstehungsgeschichte der Sant‘Antoniokapelle kennt man aber bisher noch nicht. Immerhin hat man an Hand des Christophorusfreskos an der südlichen Außenwand, das in die zweite Hälfte des 14. Jhd und der ersten Hälfte des 15. Jhd datiert wird, einen etwaigen Anhaltspunkt über das Alter der kleinen Kirche. Offenbar diente sie der Gemeinde von Biaza und unterstand der Pfarrkirche von Brenzone. Die wesentlichen Kriterien des romanischen Baustils sind auch heute noch an der Kirche unverfälscht erkennbar. Da sie aber auf einem steilen Felsvorsprung erbaut wurde, befindet sich der Eingang nicht wie üblich an der Westfassade, sondern notwendigerweise an der Südseite neben dem schon erwähnten großen Christophorusfreskos. Rechts neben dem Portal steht der zeitgleich errichtete Campanile mit breiten Einzelbogenfenstern in der Glockenstube. Der Innenraum teilt sich in ein einfaches Kirchenschiff und in die halbkreisförmige Apsis, dort befinden sich Freskenmalereien aus dem 14. und 15. Jhd. Arrivarci in passeggiata sulla vecchia mulattiera un tempo usata per le transumanze, peraltro tutelata come monumento, è già un 32 piacere in sé. Passo dopo passo ci si concede il permesso di dimenticare lo stress della vita moderna. In questa pace straordinaria l’unico traffico sono le pecore al pascolo o piccoli gruppi di artisti che seduti sul prato dipingono i loro acquarelli. Neben all den Naturschönheiten, den ursprünglichen Dörfern, hat Brenzone noch etwas ganz besonderes zu bieten: Campo! Einen fast verlassenen Ort, 200 m über dem See gelegen, am Fuße des Monte Baldo Massivs. Es gibt Nachweise aus dem 11. Jahrhundert, in denen der Ort bereits erwähnt wird. Schon der Spaziergang über den alten, unter Denkmalschutz gestellten Mauleselweg, über den früher Schafe und andere Tiere getrieben wurden, ist ein Genuss. Es ist ein Weg abseits der Zivilisation. Conosciuto nel passato come “Hortus Europa” (giardino d’Europa) per la sua ricchezza e diversità di flora, il Monte Baldo venne frequentato da naturalisti e botanici famosi. Qui si trovano specie endemiche di fiori chiamate “baldensis” ad indicare che sono state rinvenute per la prima volta sul Monte Baldo e che sono esclusive di questa montagna (orchidee in particolare). Oltre a queste si trovano piante medicinali ed aromatiche. Parecchi sono i sentieri ideali per passeggiate, trekking e nordic walking che da Brenzone conducono fino alle cime più alte e ai vari rifugi, raggiungibili anche da Costabella in Prada (1000 mt) tramite un impianto di risalita. Der höchste Gipfel (Cima Valdritta) erreicht eine Höhe von 2.218 Meter. Im Verlauf der klimatischen Entwicklung durch die Jahrtausende entstand auf dem Monte Baldo eine Vielzahl von Pflanzenarten, die diesen Berg so reichlich schmücken. Dadurch wird auch verständlich, warum sich die Botaniker der vergangenen Jahrhunderte so sehr für diese Pflanzenvielfalt begeisterten und ihn den “Garten Europas“ nannten. Viele Pflanzen sind hier „endemisch“ und tragen den Namen „Baldensis“, darunter Orchideen und Heilpflanzen. Es gibt viele Wanderwege, die vom ganzen Gebiet Brenzone hinauf bis zu den höchsten Bergspitzen und Berghütten hinaufführen, die von Costabella in Prada (1000 m) auch über Liftanlagen zu erreichen sind. Es handelt sich um ein wahrhaftiges Paradies in allen Jahreszeiten für Wanderer, Bergsteiger, Paragleiter, Deltaplaner und Mountainbiker. Monte Baldo, also known as “Hortus Europa” (Garden of Europe), owes its fame not only to the wealth of its nature and the singularity and variety of its flora, it is also of interest from an anthropic point of view, as there are many remnants bearing witness to its past history. Forming a long ridge it separates the Adige Valley (Val Lagarina) from Lake Garda. This chain splits up to into a succession of peaks at an average height of 2000 to 2218 metres (Cima Valdritta), giving it a crested appearance. In the course of time various climatic changes occurred, thus allowing different species of plants to establish themselves only here. This is the reason why, many botanists in the last century, discovered some unknown species ( approx. 20) called “Baldensis” as part of their name. From the large territory of Brenzone, you can enjoy a lot of walks and footpaths from the coast up the the highest peaks. From Costabella in Prada (1000 m) you can also get sky-lift facilities and reach the 37 various mountain refuges. Weitverbreitet ist auch der Surfsport. Auf den Wellen des Sees tanzen im Wind die Segelund Surfliebhaber oder der internationalen Weltmeister, die hier zu Hause sind: zu Recht wird dies für eine der schönsten natürlichen Schulen für Segeln, Surfen und Kitesurfen angesehen. Brenzone bedeutet jedoch nicht nur See. Hier gibt es auch Berge. Prada liegt im Herzen des Monte Baldo. Von der Küste führen bis hier hinauf die Pfade, die in den vergangenen Jahrhunderten von Hirten und Holzhauern beschritten wurden: es ist äußerst faszinierend, diesen Pfaden zu folgen und vom Oliventerrassen zu den Kastanienbäumen zu gelangen. Sodann kann man mit den Liftanlagen von PradaCostabella auf die Gipfel hochfahren und von dort aus eine wunderbare Aussicht auf den See genießen. Presenta un’acidità di acido oleico inferiore a 0,60% e mantiene uno stato di freschezza a distanza di diversi mesi dalla data di produzione. Si tratta di un olio organoletticamente eccellente e merceologicamente pregevole, in quanto esente da residui antiparassitari, rigorosamente controllato da una commissione di esperti che periodicamente assaggiano e rendono idoneo il prodotto. Conosciuto da secoli come il migliore condimento se usato a freddo, questo olio extravergine di oliva è anche apprezzato in cucina per la sua resistenza ad alte temperature (220°C) durante la cottura. In medicina, il suo uso quotidiano è ritenuto garanzia di buona circolazione del sangue, dato il suo potere di abbassamento del colesterolo. Der Verband ist ein freiwilliger Zusammenschluß, welcher das Auszeichnungsetikett allein den Ölen aus ganz ausgesuchten Oliven verleiht, nämlich nur solchen, die an den zum Seeufer hin liegenden Hängen wachsen, und die dann, bei ihrem richtigen Reifungsgrad angelangt, nach traditionellen Systemen kaltgepreßt werden. Um sich mit dem Etikett des „Consorzio“ schmücken zu können, müssen die Olivenöle 63 der Riviera in jedem Falle eine spezielle Probierprobe über sich ergehen lassen. Dabei wird das Olivenöl von Brenzone in Hinsicht auf den Geschmack als ausgezeichnet und warenkundlich wertvoll eingestuft, da es als “ökologisch sauber” bezeichnet wird: es ist frei von Rückständen der Schändlingsbekämpfungsmittel. La cottura deve aggirarsi intorno ai 40 minuti. A parte avrete già tagliato a pezzettini il formaggio (dolce e stagionato), con un pizzico di pepe. Aggiungetelo lentamente alla polenta e, sempre mescolando, unite anche l’olio di Brenzone fino all’assorbimento completo. Versate in una terrina. Si consuma da solo. Mentre il luccio cuoce, preparate un trito con capperi - peperoni, prezzemolo e (per chi non ha particolare avversione) con il profumo di aglio e cipolla. In un tegame mettete a fuoco l’olio di Brenzone, con le acciughe pulite dalle lische e cuocete a fuoco molto lento senza far bollire, fino a che le acciughe sono sciolte. A questo punto aggiungere il trito di tutti gli altri ingredienti, un po’ di pepe, sale q.b. e un po’ di aceto. Lasciate bollire il tutto adagio per 10 minuti. Nel frattempo il luccio sarà lessato, spolpatelo e distribuitelo su un piatto di portata. Ritiratele dall’olio, salatele e fatele sgocciolare per bene. Intanto a parte affettate molto bene le cipolle (a striscioline) e fatele rosolare in olio finché avranno raggiunto un colore giallo oro. Unite le cipolle con il loro olio di cottura alle sarde, aggiungete l’alloro, le bacche di ginepro ed aceto. Controllare il sale. Aggiungete olio fino a che ricopra tutta la superficie. Il piatto sarebbe a questo punto da consumare, ma... un segreto di questo piatto tipico di tutta la Riviera del Garda, è che esso risulta ancora migliore, se il tutto viene lasciato marinare nel suo liquido per almeno un paio di giorni. Das Gericht wäre jetzt bereit, aber… ein Geheimnis dieses Gerichtes in der gesamten Riviera del Garda, ist, dass es besser ist, wenn alles in der eigenen Flüssigkeit, für mindestens ein paar Tage zum Marinieren bleibt.
