Eccoci arrivati alla prima Newsletter del 2014!
Con il mese di gennaio si conclude il Primo Quadrimestre, che
porta con sé le prime pagelle: queste verranno consegnate agli
alunni della Scuola Primaria e della Scuola Secondaria nei giorni
seguenti:


Scuola dell’Infanzia: dal 10 al 14 febbraio
I genitori degli alunni della Scuola dell’Infanzia e della
Primaria troveranno nel Libretto Personale la data e l’orario
proposti dagli insegnanti per il ricevimento.
Il 17 gennaio scorso si è tenuta la prima riunione del Comitato
Mensa, e i componenti hanno proceduto al primo “assaggio” del
cibo proposto ai nostri alunni il 29 gennaio u.s.

Come da “Notiziario Scolastico”, Vi ricordiamo che gli
incontri individuali docenti- famiglie si terranno:

Scuola Secondaria: come sopra indicato

Scuola Primaria: dal 17 al 21 febbraio
Inoltre il 12 febbraio si recheranno a Murano per visitare sia il
Museo del Vetro sia le fornaci locali, uscita didattica legata al topic
“Materials”.
In relazione alle iscrizioni 2014/15, desideriamo ricordare a chi non
abbia già consegnato i documenti che il termine è già trascorso.
DAGLI ALUNNI
Itinerari Educativi
Nei pomeriggi del 31 gennaio, 04 e 7
febbraio gli alunni di classe II e III secondaria parteciperanno ad un
laboratorio didattico sul tema del riciclo, promosso e guidato dagli
Itinerari Educativi in collaborazione con VESTA gruppo VERITAS.
L’obiettivo sarà quello di far comprendere agli alunni la gravità
dell’emergenza rifiuti e sensibilizzarli alla raccolta differenziata
ponendo in primo piano le prospettive di recupero.
Uscite didattiche
Venerdì 07 febbraio i bambini di classe II primaria si
recheranno a Venezia per partecipare ad un laboratorio dal titolo
“Facce di creta” presso il Museo di Ca’ Pesaro. I bambini
osserveranno delle sculture e proveranno poi a plasmare con la
creta il proprio ritratto.
Le nostre classi di Nursery 1 e 2, Reception e classe I e II primaria
assisteranno ad un’interpretazione della favola di Little Red Riding
Hood, tratta dalla famosa serie “Cuccioli”. Si svolgerà a scuola la
mattina di giovedì 20 febbraio alle 10.00. Riceverete al più presto
una circolare con tutte le informazioni in merito.
PROSSIMI EVENTI
Festa di Carnevale: Vi informiamo che in occasione del Giovedì
Grasso, il 27 febbraio gli alunni di ogni grado di scuola potranno
indossare maschere e costumi. I bambini di Scuola Primaria
potranno inoltre portare dei dolci per festeggiare il Carnevale con
insegnanti e compagni durante il play-time della mattina! I ragazzi
di Scuola Secondaria invece trascorreranno la giornata a Venezia,
alla scoperta della tradizione e dei luoghi del carnevale!
Vi ricordiamo che la scuola resterà chiusa da sabato 1 a domenica
09 marzo per la Settimana Bianca.

Dear Families,
We are pleased to send you our first Newsletter of 2014!
The children in the Primary and Middle School will soon be
receiving their mid - term reports on the following dates:

Middle School :
Middle 1 - Tuesday 4th February 15.00-18.00
Middle 2 – Wednesday 5th February 15.00-18.00
Middle 3 –Thursday 6th February 15.00-18.00

Primary School :
Class 1A - Monday 10th February 16.15-17.15
Class 1B – Monday 10th February 17.15-18.15
Class 2 – Wednesday 12th February 16.15-17.15
Class 3 – Wednesday 12th February 17.15-18.15
Class 4 – Friday 14th February 16.15-17.15
Class 5 – Friday 14th February 17.15-18.05
Our Early Years children will also receive a written account of their
progress during this first term of school, after their class meetings
which are to be held on :
Parents of children in the Early Years and Primary School will be
contacted directly by the teachers with their appointment date
and time via the 'Libretto Scolastico'.
Our first School Meals Committe meeting was held on January the
17th and the first food tasting took place on January 29th.
Academic Year 2014 / 2015
In order to begin organizing for the next academic year we would
like to ask families who have not yet confirmed their enrollment
for next year to contact the school office as soon as possible in
order to communicate their decision.

Individual parent meetings will be held with teachers on the
following dates:

Middle School : As written above
Primary School: From 17th February – 21st February.
Early Years : From 10th - 14th February
On the following dates during the afternoons of the 31st of
January, the 4th and 7th of February the students in Middle I and
Middle II will be involved in a workshop dedicated to recycling led
by ‘Itinerai Educativi’ and in collaboration with VESTA. The aim of
the workshop is to raise awareness about recycling and the issue
of the rising amount of rubbish.
Friday the 7th of February Class 2 will go to the museum of
Ca’Pesaro to participate in a workshop dedicated to portraits,
where they will observe models of faces and then create using clay
a simple self-portrait.
Wednesday the 12th of February Class 2 will be going to Murano to
visit both the Glass Museum and the local furnaces where the
glass is blown. This trip is linked with their class topic on Materials.
Classes Nursery 1, 2, Reception, Class 1 and 2 will be enjoying an
interpretation by the famous ‘Cuccioli’ of the fairytale of Little Red
Riding Hood. It will take place at school on the morning of
Thursday the 20th of February at 10.00. A letter will be sent home
soon with more information to the relevant classes.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Carnival : Early Years and Primary School We will celebrate carnival
on 'Giovedi Grasso', 27th February. The children may bring to
school a costume to change into in the afternoon and some
carnival snacks to share with their class.
Middle School children will be spending the day in Venice in order
to enjoy the atmosphere of Carnival.
We would like to remind you that the school will be closed from
the 1st of March until the 9th of March for white week.
