UOMO PREISTORICO SCOPERTO
IN UNA GROTTA DEL CARSO?
In una ben nota e molto visitata grotta sul Carso i soci della JOSPDTrst
(Jamarski Odsek Slovensko Planinsko
Društvo Trst / Gruppo Grotte dell'Associazione Alpina Slovena di Trieste)
hanno superato, con un lungo scavo,
un crollo fortemente concrezionato e
hanno raggiunto una piccola saletta,
dove sul pavimento si trovano delle
ossa che sembrano umane.
Considerando che il crollo che divide
l'ingresso della grotta dalla saletta,
dove sono state trovate le ossa, è
molto concrezionato, siamo giunti alla
conclusione che le ossa dovrebbero
essere molto antiche.

Il Centro di Documentazione Speleologica "Francesco Dal Cin", a Treviso. (Franco Gherlizza)

Alpinistico Triestino ha prestato per l'inaugurazione della sala museale.

Un folto gruppo di persone,
speleologi e non, hanno
partecipato all'inaugurazione del Centro di Documentazione Speleologica
"Francesco Dal Cin", a Treviso.
Ultimata la parte "istituzionale", culminata con il taglio del nasto, il resto
della giornata è stata caratterizzata
da iniziative conviviali e dal piacere
di incontrare vecchi amici che si sono
trovati per onorare la memoria del
mitico "Barba".
Alla sera, dopo una lauta cena collettiva, è stato presentato il video,
prodotto da Enzo Procopio e Tono De
Vivo, dedicato a Francesco Dal Cin e
intitolato "Mani come badili. C'era una
volta il Cin".
Il Centro di Documentazione Speleologica "Francesco Dal Cin" nasce come
struttura polifunzionale.
Dista cinque minuti dal centro di
Treviso, in uno dei parchi naturali più
estesi della Provincia; è la risposta
alle vostre esigenze di studio speleologico; dispone di ampi spazi comuni
quali sala conferenze, biblioteca, sala
mussale, cucina, foresteria, bagni e un
ampio spazio esterno.
Il Centro è in grado di accogliere e
ospitare gruppi di studio, scuole di
speleologia per corsi di formazione e
convegni. Il tutto un una cornice tipica
di un ambiente speleo-alpino. La sala
conferenze, illuminata da luce naturale, è accogliente e funzionale e può
ospitare fino a 50 persone.

Speleologica Pordenonese
CAI ha organizzato i due
incontri dei quali riproduciamo gli
inviti.
Le due iniziative culturali sono state
promosse in chiusura della mostra
"Aganis, landris e altre storie in
Val Colvera" che è rimasta esposta,
presso il Teatro Circolo Operaio di
Frisanco, fino al 12 settembre 2010.

"Sardegna ipogea"
Un gruppo di sei soci del
Club Alpinistico Triestino
ha deciso, nella settimana
sopra indicata, di effettuare
delle escursioni in alcune grotte che
si trovano nei territori di Olinea e di
Dorgali (Sardegna centro orientale).
Le grotte visitate dal team triestino
sono state, nel dettaglio:
la Grotta del Bue Marino, laGrotta di
Tiscali, laGrotta Donini, laGrotta Su
Bentu e la Grotta Su Palu.
I nostri speleologi sono stati agevolati,
nelle ricerche degli ingressi, dalle indicazioni e dall'accompagnamento dei
soci dello Speleo Club Oliena "Gianni
Pinna", ai quali va il nostro più sincero
ringraziamento.

La ristorazione può essere offerta e
organizzata dal Gruppo Grotte Treviso presso la cucina della struttura;
comprende colazioni, pranzi e cene
per comitive.
Il Centro offre anche una collocazione
per mostre ed esposizioni, la sala
museale è quella dedicata a queste
attività. Grazie alla sua posizione,
situata al piano terra e con ingresso
indipendente rispetto al resto della
struttura, è fruibile direttamente dal
pubblico. Inoltre, essendo completamente oscurabile è adatta a proiezioni
video, normali o 3D.
Nell’area più riservata del Centro si
trova la foresteria in grado di ospitare
almeno 16 persone; è dotata di letti
a castello e materassi. La posizione
privilegiata, all’interno del parco dello
Storga, rende la struttura ideale per
convegni con grande numero di partecipanti come eventi nazionali.

Ha avuto inizio ed è in
pieno svolgimento il primo corso di speleologia
della neonata “Scuola
di Speleologia Isontina”
che vede riuniti ben tre gruppi isontini
in un unico progetto didattico.
L’ambiziosa iniziativa che è stata voluta precisamente dal Centro Ricerche
Carsiche “Carlo Seppenhofer” di Gorizia, dal Gruppo Speleologico “Talpe
del Carso” di Doberdò del Lago e dal
Gruppo Speleologico Monfalconese
A.d.F. di Monfalcone ha riscosso fin
da subito il plauso della Provincia di
Gorizia, attraverso l’Assessore allo
Sport, sig.ra Sara Vito, e soprattutto dai
giovani a giudicare anche dal numero
degli allievi iscritti, ben quattordici!
La novità assoluta che caratterizza
questa prima edizione e dei tempi che
stanno cambiando è rappresentata dal
folto gruppo femminile presente tra gli
iscritti al punto da costituire quasi il
50% del totale degli allievi dell’intero
corso.
“Uniti per crescere”. È questo il motto
fortunato che ha accompagnato la nascita della nuova interessante iniziativa
nella provincia di Gorizia; la Scuola
di Speleologia Isontina, emanazione
della Commissione Nazionale Scuole
di Speleologia della Società Speleologica Italiana, si pone dunque come
un punto di riferimento nella didattica
speleologica della nostra provincia.
Nata come un primo progetto pilota
che, forse in futuro prenderà piede e
potrà svilupparsi sull’intero territorio
regionale, almeno questo è l’auspicio
del coordinatore regionale C.N.S.S.
- S.S.I. del Friuli Venezia Giulia, sig.
Mauro Kraus che è stato presente
alla prima lezione del corso svoltasi
a Monfalcone.
Il grande numero degli allievi iscritti
rappresenta indubbiamente un successo ma, non è il solo visto che fin
da subito la Scuola ha organizzato già
quest’estate uno stage, a livello regionale, per la verifica di nuovi istruttori
di tecnica (IT) e aiuto istruttori (AI) in
modo da incrementare il corpo docente,
non solo di quella isontina ma anche
a beneficio delle altre scuole regionali.
Anche in questo caso il successo è
stato notevole visto che allo stage,
inaspettatamente, si erano iscritti numerosi aspiranti docenti provenienti
anche da altre regioni d’Italia.

Abisso Led Zeppelin:
nuovo –1000
sul Monte Canin
Una settimana di punta nelle parti più
profonde dell’abisso, ha permesso
a Marco “Cavia” Sticotti della Commissione Grotte Eugenio Boegan di
Trieste e a due speleologi ungheresi
di by-passare la frana abbandonata
lo scorso inverno per trovarsi in una
galleria discendente che fa raggiungere
al “Zeppelin” i fatidici –1000 metri.
La galleria continua inclinata a 45° e
alla base di un salto di circa 10 metri,
si intravede un corso d’acqua.
Fin dalla sua scoperta, nel 1992, da
parte della Società Adriatica di Speleologia, l’abisso ha visto la partecipazione di molti gruppi speleologici
sia triestini che provenienti da altre
parti d’Italia.
Dal 2008, grazie anche al contributo
esplorativo degli speleologi ungheresi,
l’abisso è ritornato a essere il protagonista del Monte Canin.
Grotta “Burja”: video
del “soffio timavico”
Il Gruppo Grotte Jamarskj Odsek
SPDT-Trst da anni sta lavorando alla
grotta “Burja” sopra Kozina, in Slovenja. Il nome Burja, deriva dal “vento”
che si può percepire all’entrata della
grotta, forte come la “Bora” appunto.
La grotta, che per il momento, raggiunge i 201 m di profondità, è ancora in
fase di esplorazione e le sorprese di
certo non mancheranno visto il video
che gli esploratori hanno pubblicato
sul sito del loro gruppo (www.jospdtrst.
org/notizie). La grotta Burja, a quanto
sembra, oltre che a “soffiare” spruzzava zampilli d’acqua all’esterno: il video
è impressionante e dà l’idea di quanto
ancora c’è da scoprire e da sapere
sulla circolazione idrica sotterranea.
Le forti precipitazioni dei giorni scorsi
hanno attivato i circuiti sotterranei del
territorio carsico facendo letteralmente
“sibilare” e “soffiare” tutte quelle cavità
o “finestre” che in qualche modo sono
in comunicazione con il corso ipogeo
del fiume Rijeka/Timavo. Dalle più
famose e conosciute, come l’Abisso
di Trebiciano o la Lazzaro Jerko, sul
carso triestino dove si può vedere il
livello dell’acqua alzarsi, fino a quelle
cavità dove l’acqua non riesce a risalire
ma fa da pistone forzando la colonna
d’aria lungo i pozzi fino all’uscita della
grotta innescando una forte corrente
d’aria che arriva fino all’esterno.

regione Friuli Venezia Giulia.
L'argomento che tratto, ormai da
trent'anni, è "La prevenzione degli incidenti negli ipogei naturali e artificiali".
Come sempre, nessun compenso o
rimborso spese vi verrà chiesto qualora
decideste di avvalervi della mia collaborazione. Chiedo soltanto di essere
contattato con un po' di preavviso.
Mi rendo disponibile anche per le altre
regioni italiane, sempre gratuitamente,

Nel mese di ottobre verrà dato alle stampe il libretto "La prevenzione
degli incidenti negli ipogei naturali e artificiali" di Franco Gherlizza.
Il volume, prodotto dal Gruppo Grotte del Club Alpinistico Triestino,
ha ottenuto il patrocinio della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri
- Dipartimento di Protezione Civile.
È composto da 48 pagine a colori e da un cd-rom che riporta integralmente il
lavoro didattico che Gherlizza presenta durante i corsi di speleologia.
La pubblicazione così assemblata, verrà presentata a Casola Valsenio, in occasione del prossimo appuntamento di novembre, e potrà essere richiesto presso
lo stand del Club Alpinistico Triestino, dove verrà consegnato, gratuitamente,
a tutti i Gruppi speleologici.
La versione in inglese, invece, verrà presentata e distribuita al 12 International
Cave Rescue che si terrà, in Bulgaria, dall'8 al 15 maggio 2011. (v. pag. 10).

potremo riunire per parlare di novità e
di azioni future da portare avanti.

Il Corso avrà come base logistica la Foresteria Comunale di Barcis
(alloggio in camere con bagno, letto, lenzuola e coperte).
Detto corso si propone di fornire conoscenze dell'ecosistema ipogeo
e dei suoi abitanti.
Il corso si svilupperà attraverso lezioni teoriche e visite in ambiente ipogeo.
Materiale necessario:
Abbigliamento per grotte in ambiente con temperatura di 8°C.

MONTE ANALOGO indice un concorso riservato alle produzioni cinematografiche di autori
delle regioni alpine del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Slovenia e Carinzia.

Saranno ammessi indistintamente filmati girati sia in pellicola (35mm, 16mm e super8) che su
nastro video (Betacam, U-matic, Mini-DV, DVD, video8, Hi8, S-VHS) purché di recente
produzione (2009

Hello
The symposium 12th of the cave rescue commission of the UIS is on the way.
Bulgaria proposes us a planning in a pleasant natural site. It was various
accommodations. The caves, rivers, canyon and cliffs are interesting for
exercise or application.
From everybody we are waiting presentations on the news concerning the
rescue since 4 years.
It was new prototype of radio by cavers form England, Switzerland and France.
It’s the same concerning diving with the “light stretcher”.
The exchanges between different countries are concerning training but also
different aspects: medical, materials and techniques, managing…
Since the 11° symposium, we gave the Aggtelek declaration, written by the 24
countries present at this meeting, at the delegates during the last congress of
UIS (Kerrville – Texas USA, summer 2009).
Take good note of 8 to 15 may 2011, don’t miss this meeting and remember
the message from our Belgium friends: if the rescue is serious we don’t take
ourselves seriously.

Dear Colleagues,
We have the pleasure to invite you to participate in the 12th International
Cave Rescue Conference, which will take place in the period: 8th – 15th of May
2011 in the town of Dryanovo, Bulgaria.
Many ages and civilizations meet on the land of the Bulgarians, and theirs
significance for the development of Europe and the world is indisputable. The
ancient and various cultural and historical heritage of Bulgaria harmonize with
its beautiful nature, healthy climate and scores of nature miracles, including
the caves. Such is the region the chosen from the Cave Rescue commission to
organize the 12th International Cave Rescue Conference in.
This is one of the most interesting karst regions in the country. The well known
caves Bacho Kiro and Andaka are located in the area. In the Bacho Kiro caves
were found remains from the material culture dated 47 000 B.C. Except for its
historical and cultural finds the region is famous for its geographical features:
canyons, rivers, waterfalls and caves.
Together with the historical and geographical values Dryanovo Complex offers
excellent hotel and tourist services, which is the reason to be determined for a
center of the 12th International Cave Rescue Conference.
During its 80 years long history the Bulgarian speleological federation has
conducted many international events, conferences and trainings. One of them
is the European Speleological Conference in 1980. More then 180 distinguished
scientists and representatives of European federations have participated in it,
including Bernard Geze, Arrigo Cigna, Adolfo Eraso, Hubert Trimmel. Other
conferences were attended by Julia James and Derek Ford. Alexis de
Martinov, Mike Meredith, André Slagmolen and Christian Dodelin have
participated in the cave rescue conferences, trainings and seminars.

PLACE OF THE EVENT
The town of Dryanovo and the Dryanovo Monastery
The town of Drynovo is situated on the northern slopes of the Central fore-part
of the Stara Planina Mountains, with good geographical location – on a 25 km
distance from the old capital of Bulgaria - Veliko Tarnovo, on a 20 km from the
town Gabrovo, and on 17 km from Tryavna. Dryanovo is a hometown of Kolyu
Ficheto - the creator of the classical Bulgarian architecture.
Complex Dryanovo Monastery, with its beautiful landscapes, caves, canyons
and waterfalls, is located within the Nature Park “Bulgarka”. It is located 5 km
southwest from the town and is a tourist center of the municipality of Dryanovo.
Dryanovo Monastery St. “Archangel Michael” was established in the 12th
century during the reign of King Kaloyan. The monastery became a centre of
the Bulgarian enlightenment and culture. As a part of the revolutionary
committee of Turnovo the monastery played important role for the preparation
of the April revolt. The military band of the priest Hariton found quarter in the

monastery on the 29th of April 1976. The rebels were surrounded by the turks
and led a 9-day-long battle.
Most of the rebels died for the freedom of
Bulgaria. The demolished and burned down monastery was partially restored in
1877.
The contemporary monastery is one of the 10 most beloved sacred places of
the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, a national
cultural record and preferred
tourist site.
In the yard of the St. “Archangel Michael” monastery is organized an exhibition
of the historical museum of Dryanovo.
CAVES
Two from the most interesting Bulgarian caves are situated in the region. The
touristic cave Bacho Kiro and the water cave Andaka. The Bacho Kiro cave is
subject to complex archaeological excavations by Bulgarian and foreign
archaeologists, who discovered eneolithic and paleolithic remains. Currently
the cave is open for tourist visits.
The 600 years old village of Bozhentsi is located nearby; it is an architectural
and historical reserve.

VISA REGIMEN
No visa is needed for citizens from EC countries to enter Bulgaria.
In case of a need of official invitation, the secretariat will duly send such per email.
Please, consult the embassy of Republic Bulgaria in Your country.
TRAVEL
The town of Dryanovo is located in the central parts of North Bulgaria. The most
suitable international airports are in the capital Sofia (on a 230 km distance)
and in the city of Varna on the Black Sea (on approx. the same distance).
Good transport links (by train and bus) are available from the international
railway station of Gorna Oryahovitza (on a 45 km distance).
The transport form Sofia to Dryanovo costs 50 EUR.
ACCOMODATION
The organizers offer to the participants various ways for accommodation –
hotels, hut, camping with bungalows or own tents – all on pedestrian distance
(up to 20 minutes) from the place of the conference (the Dryanovo Hotel).

The hotel has a capacity of 66 beds and disposes on apartments, single,
double and triple rooms with cable TV.
Catering establishments: restaurant with 100 places, banqueting hall with 24

Tourist hut „Bacho Kiro”
It is located on a 1500 meters distance from Dryanovo Hotel. It disposes on 60
beds in double, triple, four bed and dormitories, with common bathrooms and
toilets on each floor. The hut offers internet, club-restaurant and panorama
terrace facing the St. “Archangel Michael” Monastery.

Strinava Camping
It is located on an 1100 meters distance from Dryanovo Hotel. It disposes on 60

internet.

The organizers can not guarantee reservations made after the final date of
participation application. The bookings are accepted only under paid
participation fee.

PARTICIPATION APPLICATION
All who wishes to participate the conference should declare this by completing
and sending the attached registration form, together with a brief summary of
proposed papers to the organizers address not later than December 31, 2010.
Please note that the final full version of your reports should be submitted to the
organizers no later than January 31, 2011 on optical media or e-mail address of
the BFSp. The symposium of materials from the conference will be preliminary
printed and provided in advance of to those participants, who have sent their
reports on time.
PARTICIPATION FEE
1. Full participants – they have the rights to read reports; to receive printed
materials from the conference; to attend the cocktail party and the excursions
in the area of the conference.
2. Accompanying participants - they have the rights to attend the cocktail
party and the excursions in the area of the conference.

be sent to the secretariat until 31st of December 2010. The materials, received

The way how the reports should be designed and presented is given in the
specific enclosure to this circular. The operating team will review the reports
before their inclusion in the documents’ symposium and will inform the authors
whether the reports will be included in the symposium or not.
REQUIREMENT TO THE FORMAT OF THE MATERIALS FOR PRINT
Standard reports formatting:
1. The texts of the reports should be prepared for printing. Further editing is
not foreseen. The maximum volume of the report is set to 5 pages / A4
format.
