“With Don Bosco,
Educators of
the Young
of Our Time”
International Convention
of Salesian Pedagogy
ROME, 19-21 MARCH, 2015
SALESIANUM / UPS
Objective
In the knowledge that “God is waiting for us in
the young to offer us the grace of encountering
Him and to prepare us to serve Him in them,
while acknowledging their dignity and educating them to the fullness of life” (GC 23, 95), we
are convinced that even for us the education of
the young is the greatest and most divine mission to which the Lord calls us (BM XIII, 629).
Certain of the fact, that to fulfil the educational
mission, which the Lord entrusts us with as
followers of Don Bosco, we must acquire the
ability to combine “educational passion” and
“pedagogical expertise”. In doing so, we set in
motion our knowledge, our understanding and
our ability to intervene during this year of Bicentenary of the birth of Don Bosco. In this
way, we would like to set an effective course of
reflection, exchange, and debate so that we
can expand the knowledge, understanding and
the competence of educational participation.
