BAPTISMS
The Sacrament of Baptism is administered on the Second and Fourth
Sunday of every month at 12:30 PM. Parents should contact the Parish Office to participate in the Parish baptismal seminar, which is held
the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM.
MARRIAGES
Marriages should be arranged at least six months in advance of the
wedding date. Please phone the Parish Office and make an appointment to speak with the Pastor; this should be done prior to making any
other arrangements. Pre-Cana Program required. If either party is
under 19 years of age at the time of Marriage, special preparations will
be required.

The Very Reverend Dom Elias Carr,
Greetings to you and all the parishioners of St. Rocco’s
parish as you celebrate the annual St. Rocco’s feast, the
“best feast in the East.” I have cherish very profound and
deep memories of the feast from the years I travelled from
the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington to St. Rocco’s parish to offer some little assistance on
Saturdays or Sundays.
The annual St. Rocco’s feast was an annual expression of
the deep faith and selfless love of the parishioners of St.
Rocco’s and their pastors. It was always a time of hard
work and commitment from parishioners whose daily
lives were consumed by their own work/professional lives
and family. Yet, there was always time to dedicate many
hours to the committee in preparation for the feast, the
devotional events and annual St. Rocco’s Mass followed
by the procession through the streets of Glen Cove, and
the work of each day and night of the feast. I learned
much from Fr. Aaron and the many parishioners, living
and those now deceased, who were and continue to be a
part of that tradition.
I also wish to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you, the Very Rev. Dom Daniel Nash, your seminarian in summer residence, Joseph Scolaro, the members
of the Rosary-Altar Society, those who were involved in
the preparation of my farewell Mass, and all those who
were so generous through their presence at the Mass and
the gift of the beautiful vestment set. Thank you. I also
wish to thank those whose generosity to me I was able to
offer to your new program for the Catholic young people
of St. Rocco’s parish. I am most appreciative of everyone’s prayers! Please be assured of my prayers.
Dom Elias, I thank you. I also assure you of my prayers
and support as you assume the responsibilities of Headmaster of All Saints Regional Catholic School. How
blessed are the students and families of those who will
attend! You know that you and all the Canons Regular of
St. Augustine are most welcome here at St. Joseph’s
Seminary! I congratulate you on the arrival of the recently
ordained deacon, Dom Gabriel, who will bring his enthusiasm to the life of both St. Rocco’s and St. Patrick’s parishes. I pray that if it be God’s will, vocations to the
priesthood and consecrated life will emerge from the faith
of the good and generous people of your parishes!
May the ever-Virgin, Mary Immaculate, St. Joseph, and
St. Rocco, pray for us!

Un saluti a voi e a tutti i parrocchiani di San Rocco,
mentre celebrate l’annuale festa di San Rocco.” la
migliore festa nell’ Est”. Io conservo molti profondi
ricordi della festa che da molti anni ho viaggiato dal
Seminario dell'Immacolata Concezione in Huntington
alla parrocchia di San Rocco per offrire un piccolo
aiuto il Sabato o la Domenica.
L'annuale festa di San Rocco era un’espressione annuale
della fede profonda e amore disinteressato dei
parrocchiani di San Rocco ed i lori pastori. È stato
sempre un tempo di duro lavoro ed impegno da parte dei
parrocchiani la cui vita quotidiana era sempre
consumata con la propria vita di lavoro / professionale e
familiare. Eppure, c'era sempre tempo da dedicare molte
ore al comitato per le preparazioni alla festa, gli eventi
devozionali e dell’annuale Messa di San Rocco seguita
dalla processione per le strade di Glen Cove, e il lavoro
di ogni giorno e la sera della festa . Ho imparato molto
da Padre. Aaron e dai molti parrocchiani viventi e da
quelli che ora sono defunti, che sono stati e continuano
ad essere una parte della tradizione.
Vorrei inoltre cogliere questa opportunità per esprimere la
mia gratitudine a voi, Padre Daniel Nash, il seminarista in
residenza estiva, Giuseppe Scolaro, i membri della Società
del Santo Rosario, e tutti quelli che sono stati coinvolti
nella preparazione della mia ultima Messa, e tutti quelli che
sono stati così generosi con la loro presenza alla Messa e il
bellisimo regalo del vestimento. Grazie. Desidero inoltre
ringraziare tutti coloro la cui generosità a me, mi è stato
possibile di offrirli al vostro nuovo programma per i
giovani cattolici della parrocchia di San Rocco. Io sono
molto riconoscente per le preghiere di tutti! Siate certi
anche delle mie preghiere.
Padre Elias, ti ringrazio. Anch'io vi assicuro delle mie
preghiere e il sostegno, per aver preso la responsabilità di
Direttore della Scuola Cattolica Regionale di Tutti i Santi.
Come sono benedetti gli studenti e le famiglie di coloro
che parteciperanno! Sapete che voi e tutti i Canonici
Regolari di San Agostino siete i benvenuti qui al Seminario
di San Giuseppe! Mi congratulo con voi per l'arrivo del
recente ordinato diacono, Don Gabriel, che porterà il suo
entusiasmo per la vita delle parrocchie di San Rocco e San

BULLETIN REFLECTION
The crowd in today’s gospel demanded a sign of
Jesus and wanted to know what “work” He did to
inspire their faith. May our faithful stewardship be
a sign to others that we, like the Ephesians in the
second reading, have laid aside our former way of
life and acquired a “fresh, spiritual way of thinking”
in Christ.
LIVING STEWARDSHIP
We are grateful this week for all stewards in our
parish who stand ready to respond whenever and
wherever the Lord speaks to us and be prepared
for it to change our lives!

“This fall, couples that have been married fifty years or
more will be honored at liturgies on
Sunday, September 23, at the Church of Saint Rose of
Lima in Massapequa and on Sunday, October 21 at the
Church of Christ the King in Commack. Both liturgies
will begin at 2:30pm. Couples may register for ONE
liturgy. Registration forms and complete instructions
can be obtained at the rectory. Registration must be
received by the Office of Worship by September 6th
for the September 23rd liturgy and by October 4th for
