Making the Most of Teaching Materials for Primary School Teachers
In the first part, Margaret Bannister will provide a general overview at the vast amount
of materials that are now available for engaging and motivating primary school learners
and how to use them to their full potential. In a very practical way it will provide
teaching ideas for lesson planning, songs, videos and games for large classes. She
teaches children and adults at ANDERSON HOUSE and has specialised in working with
pre-primary and primary for over ten years. She runs the ENGLISH IS FUN!® courses
for children aged 3 to 8 at ANDERSON HOUSE and continues to enjoy teaching 8 to 12year-olds preparing them for the Starters, Movers and Flyers exams. Margaret is a
CELTA qualified teacher and is a Cambridge Speaking Examiner.
In the second part, Tracey Sinclair will present various activities to help make lessons
less boring and will show how to use the 4 Rs – Repeat, Repair, Reduce and Recycle – to
communicate more effectively in English. She will also demonstrate how the 4 Rs can be
used in culture lessons and CLIL. Tracey is an educational consultant for ELI and
teacher trainer.
