SUNDAY
“I tell you solemnly: unless a grain of wheat
falls on the ground and dies it remains a single
grain; but if it dies, it yields a rich harvest”
(John 12: 24-25).
Our 100th anniversary book is ready!
The much-anticipated book--St. Clare's Church: Celebrating
100 Years of Faith and Service--is now on sale. We were
amazed and humbled by the many stories, memories and
photos shared by parishioners about our parish--and so will
you! The 170+ pages also contain stunning full-colour
pictures.
There is a special price of $70 for parishioners (cash or
cheque only); online price is $75. We will make a special
presentation and accept orders starting after all Masses
this weekend. Books will be available for pickup in late
spring. There are a limited number of copies, so don't miss
out on this unique keepsake of our parish’s life. Makes an
excellent gift! Order now to ensure you don’t miss out.

WE SHARE IN THE EUCHARIST…
We share in God’s Word! The first
half of the Mass is the Liturgy of the
Word. We listen to stories from the
Bible, a special book about God’s love
for us all. But remember that the Bible is
not just a simple book: it is God Himself
speaking to us!
Learn more about scriptures and the Bible in Chapter 3 of
the Eucharist workbook!
The celebrations of Masses for First Communion will
be on May 24th at 2:30pm (Stella Maris and Other
Schools) and May 31st at 2:30pm (St. Clare School).

Working wonders in our livelihoods… When he was
presented with a top youth achievement award at a recent
gala at The Carlu, Kiwayne was only a short distance from
the streets where he had been homeless, and a world
away. In the building’s food court a few years ago, he
recalls falling asleep at the table – exhausted – trying to
avoid having to go back outside. “I was going down the
wrong path and didn’t know if I’d live to be 21,” he says.
But for the past two years since moving into his own place,
Kiwayne has been studying construction engineering at
George Brown College and working part-time at the
Provincial Advocate’s Office. Kiwayne grew up in foster
care and, at 17, he found himself on the street until a
friend told him about Covenant House. “Covenant House
gave me stable housing that allowed me to go back to
school and learn life skills.” says Kiwayne.
Thank you for your contributions to date. So far, we’ve
