MILLEVELE 2013 STARTS ON JUNE 2nd IN GENOA
FREE ENTRY AND EUROPEAN COMMISSION PATRONAGE

Millevele Young will take place on June 8th and 9th
Genoa, May 21st 2013 – On next June 2nd – on the Republic day – Genoa’s sea will
colour again with Millevele 2013, the big sail event open to all yachts organized by
Yacht Club Italiano.
Millevele 2013: free entry and the regattas’s course
Millevele, that this year reaches its 27° edition, is a race open to all yachts from 6,45
metres on, divided in eleven categories according to their overall length.
Also in 2013 entry is free: the first 500 registered will receive a bag full of gifts.
Millevele starts on Sunday the 2nd of June at 11 am in front of the Lido di Albaro.
Participants will race on a fix vertices course that will take them to a buoy in front of
Quarto and then to one off at sea before going back to Genoa. The race will take
place in real time for all categories.
Millevele and the European Communitye
For the third consecutive year Millevele has the patronage of the Italian
Representation office of the European Commission.
How to register
The entry for Millevele is for free. It is possible to register to Millevele 2013 directly
online, on the Yacht Club Italiano website (www.yci.it) until 11.59 pm of Saturday
June 1st 2013. For those who prefer hardcopy registration, it is possible to download
from the website www.yci.it the registration form that will have to be given within
5pm of Saturday June the 1st at the event secretariats:

There it is also possible to collect the gift bag.
Opening hours of the secretariats: Yacht Club Italiano Race Secretariat at the
Porticciolo Duca degli Abruzzi in Genoa from 14.00 of Friday May 31st 2013, and
from 09.00 to 17.00 of Saturday June 1st also at the Marina Aeroporto Secretariat,
Sestri Ponente.
Yacht Club Italiano will organize hospitality for boats coming from out of Genoa to
take part ain Millevele: these will have the possibility to moor at Marina Genova
Aeroporto in Sestri Ponente and at the Marina Fiera from Friday 31st of May to
Sunday 2nd of June.

Updates and information are available on the Yacht Club Italiano website
(www.yci.it) and on the Millevele Facebook page (www.facebook.com/millevele),
that has nearly 4000 contacts.
This year’s edition has also a new important communication partner: GOA
Magazine. Millevele will be followed live by the first monthly for tablet completely
dedicated to the Liguria region. Readers participating or watching the race (the start
will be visible from Corso Italia), will have the possibility to upload videos and
photos, describing the most exciting moments of the event. The best photos will be
published on GOA Magazine June edition. To view the section dedicated to
Millevele, with photos, infos and curiosities, you simply have to go to the AppStore
for iPad or Google Play for Android and download the magazine for free.
Millevele Coastal Rowing
La fourth edition of Millevele Coastal Rowing, organized by Yacht Club Italiano
under the aegis of The Italian Rowing Federation and with the collaboration of the
Comitato Regionale Liguria, is scheduled for June 2nd and will take place in parallel
with Millevele, starting at 10.30 am.
It is a Coastal Rowing race, the coastal rowing discipline that was born in France at
the end of the ’80, and is for male and female crews with boats 1x, 2x, 4x+.
Participants will race on the race course Punta Vagno-Priaruggia-Punta Vagno,
nearly 6 km long.
Millevele Young
Millevele Young is the event dedicated to the young sail promises and will take
place on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of June on a race area off the Lido di Albaro.
Arrived at its fifth edition, it is for children and young boys/girls from 9 to 16 years
and open to the following classes: Optimist, 555 FIV, L’equipe, Laser 4.7, 29er, RS
FEVA, Open Bic.
Prizegiving ceremony
Millevele’s prizegiving ceremony will take place on June 2nd at 6 pm at Yacht
Club Italiano.
The “Trofeo Millevele” will be awarded to the first boat that will cross the finish
line. In case of a course reduction, it will be awarded to the first boat arrived at the
reduction buoy of the course.
The “Coppa YCI” will be awarded to the first boat arrived in real time among the V,
VI, VII, VIII, IX categories.
An electric bicycle, one iPad Mini and one iPad with Retina display will be drawn
among all participants who have crossed the finish line and will be present at the
prizegiving ceremony.
Millevele Young prizegiving ceremony will take place on Sunday 9th of June at
Yacht Club Italiano, as soon as possible, at the end of the last race scheduled.
The Trofeo Yacht Club Italiano will be awarded to the first of every participating
Class and a mountain bike will be drawn among all young participants.
