there are the five communes of arbëreshë
origin present on the island.
Sono le cittadine di Piana degli Albanesi,Santa Cristina Gela,Mezzojuso,
Contessa Entellina e Palazzo Adriano,
qui elencate secondo un percorso Nord/
Sud,che custodiscono arte,usi e costumi della tradizione greco-bizantina
giunta fino in Sicilia al seguito dei coloni albanesi nel quindicesimo secolo.

Albanesi, Santa Cristina Gela, Mezzojuso,
Contessa Entellina and Palazzo Adriano,
listed here from north to south.They
guard the art, lore and customs of the
Greek-Byzantine tradition brought to
Sicily by Albanian settlers in the fifteenth
century.
