Climate-KIC
Cos’è e perché
Climate-KIC è il più grande partenariato pubblico privato
europeo per l’innovazione low-carbon e le sfide del
cambiamento climatico.
E’ stata costituita per facilitare la transizione:
 dall’idea al prodotto
dal laboratorio al mercato

Tecnologia
da studente a imprenditore
integragli attori del triangolo della conoscenza
•
E’ promossa dall’EIT, l’Istituto Europeo per l’innovazione e
la tecnologia

Le 8 Piattaforme tematiche Climate-KIC
Partendo dalle domande e
dalle sfide da affrontare, le
Piattaforme tematiche:
• Stabiliscono gli
orientamenti strategici su
cui si focalizzano le attività
dei 3 pillar (education,
enterpreneurship,
innovation)
• integrano i diversi attori
della Climate-KIC
• integrano le attività dei pillar
Climate-KIC 7
Thematic platform in short
Greenhouse gas monitoring: Measuring greenhouse gases in support of climate
change mitigation
Adaptation services: Increasing the ability of cities, societies and infrastructures
to adapt to climate change
Sustainable city systems: Moving towards decentralised and integrated energy,
waste and water utilities and more sustainable transport systems
Built environment: Creating energy-efficient, low-carbon new building and
‘retrofitting’ old ones
Land and water: Supporting the adaptation of water engineering and agriculture
to climate change and linking it to better land use and ecosystem services delivery
Industrial symbiosis: Boosting efficiency by turning waste, including food waste
and carbon dioxide (CO2), into a resource
Developing a bio-economy: Supporting the transition to a bio-based economy to
reduce our carbon footprint
Making transitions happen: Creating the low-carbon culture that inspires
companies, communities and citizens to reduce their impacts and to connect
globally on the climate change challenge
Climate-KIC 8
The built environment
The strategic challenge is to create energy efficient low carbon new buildings
and retrofit old ones
We address the enormous climate challenges and both economic and
technical opportunities of the built environment: Buildings represent 40% of
global anthropogenic greenhouse gases and approx. 10% of global gross
domestic product and 8% of all global jobs.
We boost the transitions needed to significantly cut these emissions by
combining financial incentives, technologies, different building sectors, and
geographic and cultural particularities.
Specifically, we address:
•
Investment: we develop economic and financial models for investment in
refurbishing existing buildings
•
Technology: we promote technological achievements that meet climatic
criteria against the backdrop of culture and climatic zone
•
Market: we facilitate demand-supply connections and create new markets

La partecipazione delle Regioni e
dell’Emilia Romagna
Education: Professional Education, Master e PhD, Summer School
RIS Outreach programme per la collaborazione con regioni non KICClimate-KIC

Energy renewal of PALAZZO GULINELLI
C.so Ercole I d'Este / Angolo Via Armari | Ferrara (FE)
•
•
•
•
•
16th C. the original unit was built according to the Addizione
Erculea by Biagio Rossetti.
Since 1863 the Conti Gulinelli family, a well-known family of
landowners in Ferrara, owns the building and underwent
radical restyling, including the internal courtyard.
End of 19th C. the new palace was enriched. Original
windows, furniture, floors, and rooms decorations in wood
were made by the cabinetmaker and interiors
designer Primo Roda in 1898. The building is now inspired
to the examples of architectural eclecticism, very popular at
this time.
Until the 1920, the Palace was enriched and used as
private residence.
In 1953 the Fondazione Canonici Mattei owns the palace
and further works changed the original plan and spatial
arrangement as became a school until the 2010.
