REGULATIONS
The Musical Association "G.Verdi" in collaboration with Common of Sinnai and the Civic School of Music,

organizes the 3 Sinnai International Wind Contest" for youth groups of wind instruments and percussions, in
order to promote, to favor and to diffuse the musical quality through a constructive comparison inspired to
principles of loyalty and correctness.
Art.1 The competition is subdivided in three sections and for limits of age:
Section A): reserved for the groups composed by young musicians up to 22° year.
Section B): reserved for the groups composed by young musicians up to 18° year.
Section C): reserved for the groups composed by young musicians up to 15° year.
The groups participants must execute:
a) one work of obligation between those indicates to you in the respective sections:
b) two works to free chosen (are given faculty to the groups of being able to choose also the works
indicate to you in the respective sections).
It is possible to perform a short warm-up piece that will not be subject to evaluation.

Time limits to be respected by both sections:
Program (a compulsory piece, a free-choice, a warm-up)

Presence on the stage

ENROLLMENT
The enrollment fee of € 150,00 for each group participating in the competition can be sent by the means of a giro
cheque (postal cheque) or a bank transfer: Account number: 10468 – ABI code: 01015 – CAB code: 44030 – (Iban

By May the 15th 2007, the following documentation should be mailed together with the enrollment application:
- a copy of the receipt of the enrollment fee payment
- a list of musicians containing their names, personal data and played instruments.
- 3 copies in original of the piece's score that will be returned at the end of the competition
- the band's historical artistic biography
- the director's artistic curriculum
- one photo of the band (in a concert formation)
- a recent video registration certifying the real technical level of the group
- the scheme of the musicians' arrangement on the stage
PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS
a) The admission at the competition depends on the Artistic Direction's unquestionable judgment. In the case of
no admittance the entire enrollment fee will be returned.
b) The performance order will be established by the Artistic Direction and it will be based on the organization
requirements and the technical ones. It will be communicated to the participating bands in a written form.
c) The members of the groups participants in the three sections will be able to exhibit themselves single with an
other group, provided that they have requirement previewed from the regulations.
d) One wind band will be able to have more directors who alternate themselves.
e) The variations regarding staff will be evaluated by the Artistic Direction only if presented in a written form by
July 17th 2007, and only if the variations are consistent with the competition regulations.
f) Before the performance the organizers of the competition will verify the identity of each member. Each member
will have to perform the I really document of identity.
g) If the inveracity of the data regarding the group's formation or its members occurs, the band will automatically
be disqualified and excluded from the competition.
h) It is consented I use it of electrophone and or electronic instruments in substitution of the wind instruments.
i) The organizers of the competition will place all the percussions provided in the compulsory pieces' scores at
bands' disposal.
i) The bands participating in the competition will have to be in possess of original scores and parts under the
penalty of exclusion from the competition.
k) In the case in which not there is a sufficient number of participants in a section, the organizing Committee will
reserve the right to cancel it.
l) The organizers of the competition reserve themselves the exclusive right to use photographic and/or
audiovisual material regarding the competition.
m) The organizers of the competition refuse all responsibility if about possible accidents happening to persons or
things during a journey and during the competition.
n) The journey, board and lodging expenses are on participating bands' charge.
JURY AND SCORE
a) The jury consists of national and international bands panorama personalities:

b) The Jury will express their judgment by the means of the score counted in hundredth parts and based on the
following parameters:
1) intonation
2) sound's quality and balance
3) technique and articulation
4) the whole and rhythmic
5) expression and dynamics
6) interpretation
c) The Jury's judgment is unquestionable and irrevocable.
d) The final score of the band that exceeds the maximum time of the presence on the stage will be diminished of 0,5
point for every second beyond the time limit.
e)The bands that will not present themselves at the established time without an important justification, will be
excluded from the competition.
b) The bands will have to reach the following scores to be classified:
1st place: 85/100
2nd place: 80/100
3rd place: 75/100
g) Each band will receive the jury scorecards as well as the total scorecard.
PRIZES
a) Prizes will be awarded in instrument tokens, accessories tokens and score tokens exclusively to the first three
groups classified in the respective sections.
b) To the band that will have reached the score over 90/100 and the highest one among all the bands participating in
the categories there will be awarded a “Città di Sinnai” (City of Sinnai) trophy.
c) All the bands participating in the competition will receive a certificate of participation.
FINAL DISPOSITIONS
The organizers and the competition's artistic direction reserve for themselves the right to evaluate extraordinary cases
and to take suitable decisions in order to guarantee the competition's success. For any possible controversy regarding
this Competition Announcement the competent authority is the Cagliari jurisdictional authority. The Italian language
test bears witness to any controversy. The enrollment to the Competition means automatically the acceptance of the
regulations presented in this announcement.

The Competition will take place in Sinnai, at the Communal Theatre (Teatro Comunale).
In order to give to participants the opportunity to program an individual sojourn in Sinnai, we communicate an
outline calendar of the Competition:

THE THEATRE ENTRY
Opening concert and Competition rehearsals: all day long 3 euro
Closing ceremony: free entry to a concert hall that is going to be indicated later.
The members of the participating bands will receive Pass-cards to be used the days of competition.
All possible requests of reservation should be presented at the organizers' office.

Solanas (Sinnai)
SINNAI
Between plains of the Campidano and the first reliefs
of the Sarrabus Sinnai rises, one of the common ones
more extended than all Sardinia (22,338 Has). It
comprises the fractions of Tasonis and San Gregorio
to the inside and, along the coast, Solanas, Genn' e
Mari, part of Torre delle Stelle. The country (ca. 16,000
inhabitants) tos be distant approximately 30 minuteren
from the center of Cagliari, the port and the airport.
