The helical brake master cylinder (plunger brake master cylinder in technical jargon) is the latest generation of
brake master cylinders. Its main feature is the presence of seals fixed to the pump body instead of the piston
in motion. The helical grooves on the brake master cylinder housing facilitate the flow of the brake liquid and
air during blow off.
The main advantages of a helical brake master cylinder compared to a traditional tandem one are:
•Compact design - ideal for small spaces
•Reduced weight - up to 20%
•Fewer components: almost half as many as traditional brake master cylinders
•Low volume uptake - minimized elastic deformations due to smaller seals
•The presence of sealing rings inside the body ensures a better resistance to impurities and wear,
and longer life
