Cervia, Pilot Project – External renovation
In Cervia Saltpans, the pilot project had
as purpose the restoration and the
internal preparation of the ancient
Hexagonal Aqueduct Tower to be used
as a starting point for a cultural itinerary
in the Saltpans.
The Tower, not used in the last years,
has a good location near the Saltpans’
Visitor Center.
Thanks to the up-coming inside
multimedia equipment, it will be
possible to introduce new historical and
scientific contents increasing the cultural
and didactical Saltpan offert.

The Cervia’s Pilot Project has been
recently changed because the
planned Mooring Area, has not been
authorized by State Forester Corps.
Therefore the Municipality has
decided to redevelop the outstanding
Tower area that aims at reclaiming it
from pollutant materials too (as
“eternit”).

Property Agency, gave a
positive opinion to
preliminary draft
• On 28.09.2012, the
Architectural Heritage and
Cultural Activities Authority ,
authorized the
implementation of the
project

• On 24.09.2012 The State
Forester Corps, Territorial
Office of Biodiversity, gave:
- a positive opinion on the
Tower project to recover the
surrounding areas;
- a negative opinion for a
new docking point for boats
to ensure an environmental
and wildlife protection.

Following the denied opinion, it
was decided to proceed with
a new project that includes
the Tower surrounding area:
- Demolition of the building
nearby the Tower that looks
dilapidated and build with poor
materials
- Remove the asbestos- cement
cover;
- The renovation of the area

• The final design was approved
the last 18 December.
• Currently the work team is
concluding the final design.
• The work completion is
expected to the end of October
