Il Gruppo Ferretti sta lavorando per garantire ai propri Clienti
un prodotto sempre più personalizzato e ricco di servizi utili
a rendere il soggiorno a bordo e la crociera un’esperienza
indimenticabile.
In order to achieve this objective, we think it is essential to
involve the Captains of our Customers’ yachts as they are
professionals who, thanks to their long experience,
commitment and love for the sea, can greatly contribute to
increase the value of our product further.
Per raggiungere questo obiettivo crediamo che sia molto
importante coinvolgere i Comandanti degli yacht dei nostri
Clienti; si tratta infatti di professionisti che, grazie alla loro
esperienza, dedizione e amore per il mare, possono
contribuire a dare al nostro prodotto un valore ancora
maggiore.
In 2004 we organised some important events dedicated
to Captains, including “Convergence 2004”, the first meeting
for Captains of the Ferretti Group boats held in March 2004
at the CRN shipyards in Ancona.
Considering the great success achieved, the very positive
experience and the important feedback received from the
Captains during the meeting, we have decided to make
this meeting an annual appointment, which this year will be
held from the 7th to 10th March 2005 at the Riva shipyards
in La Spezia.
Con questa convinzione abbiamo realizzato nel corso del
2004 alcune importanti iniziative dedicate ai Comandanti,
tra cui “Convergence 2004”, il primo meeting dedicato ai
Comandanti di barche del Gruppo Ferretti e organizzato
nel marzo del 2004 presso i cantieri CRN in Ancona.
Il successo ottenuto, l’esperienza più che positiva e gli
importanti feedback raccolti dai Comandanti durante
l’incontro ci hanno convinto a fare di questo meeting un
appuntamento annuale, che quest’anno si terrà dal 7 al 10
di marzo 2005 a La Spezia presso i cantieri Riva.

Scheduled checks and maintenance
Pershing and Ferretti Yachts’ motoryachts are designed
and built to offer maximum fun time after time. In order to
prevent any problems and unpleasant inconveniences during
the use of the boat by end customers, Pershing and Ferretti
Yachts have designed and tested a Free Scheduled
Maintenance service for their Customers, to make sure that
all their yachts are duly mantained and controlled and,
above all, to provide them with an ever closer assistance.
Scheduled Maintenance consists of three checks to be
carried out during the first two years of warranty after 3,
12 and 24 months from the delivery of the boat to the end
customer. At the above check deadlines, Pershing or Ferretti
Yachts will fix a date for the planned check, which may last
from 8 to 12 hours according to the type of boat and which
will be carried out by specialised personnel chosen by the
shipbuilding company among its Service Points. The checks
will be performed through a check list supplied by the
shipbuilding company containing more than 70 items to be
controlled.
At the end of the check list, the Service Point will have a
global view of the boat, will carry out the works under
warranty and will highlight the necessary works to be borne
by the Customer, such as the maintenance checks of
engines or generators.
At the end of the works, the relevant Service Point will
stamp and sign the maintenance check coupon contained
in the Scheduled Checks and Maintenance booklet included
in the boat documentation by Pershing and Ferretti Yachts
before the delivery of the boat.
The Scheduled Checks and Maintenance booklet is the
core of this project as well as the main instrument available
for Captains. It has the following uses:
- it contains a copy of the Warranty Certificate;
- it describes the free* Scheduled Checks offered by
Pershing and Ferretti Yachts;
- it gives advice about the correct ordinary maintenance
of the boat;
- it gives advice about the maintenance operations to be
carried out in case of long stops of the yacht;
- it contains the records of the free Scheduled Checks and
of the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance operations
carried out on board.
The Scheduled Checks and
Maintenance booklet contains a
description of all the maintenance
operations to be carried out on
Pershing and Ferretti Yachts’ boats
at regular intervals. However, such
booklet does not replace but rather
integrates the Use and Maintenance
manual.
In conclusion, the above project is
an ambitious programme that only
Pershing and Ferretti Yachts can
offer free of charge to all the
Customers that have a yacht under
24 m within the Mediterranean area.
Such project represents a valuable
and essential tool for all professional
Captains, who can use it for a correct
management of the yacht and, thus,
of the investment made by the
shipowner.
*The Scheduled Checks will be carried
out only in the Mediterranean area at the
Service Points indicated by Pershing or
Ferretti Yachts.

Manutenzione e controlli programmati
I motoryacht Pershing e Ferretti Yachts
sono strumenti pensati, progettati e
costruiti per offrire nel tempo il massimo
divertimento. Per prevenire problemi e
spiacevoli inconvenienti durante l'uso
della barca da parte del cliente finale,
per assicurarsi che tutti gli yacht siano
correttamente manutenuti e controllati,
ma soprattutto per fornire ai propri
Clienti un supporto sempre più vicino,
Pershing e Ferretti Yachts hanno
progettato e già sperimentato un
servizio di Manutenzione Programmata
Gratuita.
La Manutenzione Programmata
consiste in tre tagliandi da effettuare
durante i primi due anni di garanzia a
3, 12 e 24 mesi dalla consegna della
barca al cliente finale.
Alla scadenza di ogni tagliando il
cantiere Pershing o Ferretti Yachts
provvederà a fissare un appuntamento
per il controllo programmato. Tale
controllo, della durata di circa 8\12 ore
in funzione della barca, verrà eseguito
da tecnici specializzati scelti dal cantiere
all’interno della propria rete assistenza.
I controlli saranno effettuati tramite una check list fornita
dal cantiere contenente più di 70 voci che dovranno essere
vistate.
Alla fine della check list il Service Point avrà una visione
globale della barca, sistemerà i lavori in garanzia, ed
evidenzierà i lavori a pagamento da fare a carico del Cliente
come, ad esempio, i tagliandi motori o generatori.
Alla fine dei lavori il Service Point delegato timbrerà e firmerà
il coupon del tagliando all'interno del libretto Manutenzione
e Controlli Programmati. Questo libretto viene inserito dai
cantieri Pershing e Ferretti Yachts nella documentazione
della barca prima della consegna.
Il libretto Manutenzione e Controlli Programmati è l’anima
e lo strumento principale di questo progetto nelle mani dei
Comandanti ed ha le seguenti funzionalità:
- conserva la copia del Certificato di Garanzia;
- descrive i Controlli Programmati gratuiti* offerti da Pershing
e Ferretti Yachts;
- fornisce consigli per una corretta manutenzione ordinaria
della barca;
- fornisce consigli sulle manutenzioni da effettuare in caso
di soste prolungate dello yacht;
- raccoglie le registrazioni sia dei Controlli Programmati
gratuiti sia delle manutenzioni ordinarie e straordinarie
effettuate a bordo.
Nello specifico, all’interno del libretto di Manutenzione e
Controlli Programmati sono anche descritte tutte le necessità
di manutenzione a scadenza periodica delle imbarcazioni
Pershing e Ferretti Yachts, tenendo sempre in considerazione
che questo è uno strumento che va ad implementare e non
a sostituire il manuale di uso e manutenzione.
In conclusione, quanto sopra descritto è un programma
ambizioso che solo Pershing e Ferretti Yachts riescono ad
offrire gratuitamente a tutti i Clienti possessori di uno yacht
sotto i 24 metri nell'area del Mediterraneo.
Tale progetto rappresenta uno strumento prezioso ed
indispensabile nelle mani di un Comandante professionista,
il quale lo può utilizzare per una corretta gestione dello
yacht e quindi dell’investimento fatto dal proprio armatore.
*I Controlli Programmati verranno eseguiti solo nell’area del
Mediterraneo e presso i Service Point indicati dal cantiere Pershing
o Ferretti Yachts.

Service schedule
Controlli programmati
Pershing yachts are researched, designed and built with painstaking
care to guarantee years and years of the greatest pleasure. To
help maintain the quality, reliability and performance that distinguish
our yachts, Pershing now offers its Customers a service schedule
completely free of charge. This schedule covers the first two years
of the boat's life and is carried out by the Service Points indicated
by the boatyard.
Gli yacht Pershing sono strumenti pensati, progettati e costruiti
per offrire nel tempo il massimo divertimento. Per contribuire a
mantenere nel tempo la qualità, l'affidabilità e la performance che
caratterizzano le nostre barche, Pershing offre ai propri Clienti un
piano di controlli gratuiti da effettuarsi nel corso dei primi due anni
della barca. I controlli verranno effettuati attraverso i Service Point
indicati nel cantiere.
WHEN
The Service Schedule consists of 3 service appointments where
a comprehensive list of inspections are performed.
First service: This service is designed to ensure that all the apparatus
and equipment onboard the boat is in proper working order. It
includes over 70 in-depth tests ranging from visual inspections to
function tests and from watertightness checks to safety system
testing.
Second service: After a year, the entire range of tests performed
in the first service are repeated and our personnel also gives
advice and suggestions on how to properly maintain all the various
equipment onboard.
End of guarantee service: When the guarantee period comes to
an end, our staff checks the whole boat meticulously.
When all the tests are complete, the owner is given a report on
the state of the boat and all the advice he/she needs to continue
enjoying the vessel for years to come.
QUANDO
Il piano dei Controlli Programmati prevede 3 appuntamenti durante
i quali saranno effettuati controlli.
Primo controllo: Il controllo ha lo scopo di verificare il corretto
funzionamento di tutti gli apparati ed impianti di bordo attraverso
più di 70 verifiche approfondite: controlli visivi, controlli funzionali,
prove di tenuta, test dei sistemi di sicurezza e tanto altro.
Secondo controllo: Dopo un anno di vita, oltre a svolgere tutte le
procedure effettuate in occasione del primo controllo, il nostro
personale si preoccuperà di fornire, se necessario, consigli e
suggerimenti per dar seguito alla buona manutenzione dei vari
impianti di bordo.
Controllo di fine garanzia: Arrivati alla fine del periodo di garanzia
il nostro personale ancora una volta verificherà minuziosamente
tutta la barca.
Nella stessa occasione l'armatore avrà un rapporto sullo stato
della sua barca e tutti i consigli necessari per poter affrontare nella
massima serenità gli anni a venire.
ACCESSING THE SERVICE
There is no need for the Customer to worry about the dates; we
will organize everything. Our Customer Service Department will
inform the Customer when the service period is approaching and,
depending on the Customer's commitments, they will organise
the appointment with the nearest authorised Service Point to
where the yacht is moored.*

Il Cliente non dovrà tenere a mente nessuna scadenza; saremo
noi ad occuparcene e ad organizzare l'intervento. Il nostro Customer
Service Department avviserà il Cliente dell'approssimarsi del

to carry out all anchorage operations more easily and
faster without the help of a sailor to untangle the chain.
It is a pneumatic system powered by a compressor
located in the engine room. Pershing reflects

di ancoraggio con maggiore facilità e velocità. In questo
modo non è più necessario l’intervento del marinaio
per sbrogliare la catena.
Il sistema è pneumatico ed è alimentato da un
compressore posto in sala macchine.

First the Rivarama 44’ and Rivale 52’, then the Mercurius 59’, in
the future the new Ego 68’ and Fly 75’ models: Riva, one of the
leading shipbuilding companies in the world, is adopting for the
whole range of its boats the brand-new common rail diesel engines
produced by the German companies Man and Mtu.
The introduction of the common rail technology in the nautical
sector will mark a radical change in quality and efficiency like the
one that, in the past few years, deeply transformed the design
and performance of diesel cars in the car sector.
As a matter of fact, the common rail technology enables to control
the oil quantity, pressure (higher than in traditional diesel engines)
and injection time, which in traditional systems are fixed and
established during manufacturing. The main advantage of this
solution is that it separates the working of the pump from that of
the injectors, so that the pump can generate the oil pressure
regardless of the oil quantity, can supply the oil to the “rail” and
can electronically adjust the oil flow through a specific central unit.
In this way, not only multiple injections, but also a high supply
pressure even at low speed, a great oil pulverization with a
consequent increase in the torque and a reduction in consumption
and emissions are possible. From an environmental point of view,
the possibility of pulverizing the oil at best and injecting it in several
stages enables to achieve a considerable reduction in the emissions
of CO2 and CO (by about 20-40%).
As to the management of the new engines (MAN R6-800 CRM
for the Rivarama; MAN V8-900 CRM for the Rivale; MAN V101100 CRM for the Rivale (optional) and the Mercurius; MAN V121360 CRM for the Mercurius (optional); MAN V12-1550 CRM for
the new Ego 68’ and MTU 1524 for the Fly 75’), nothing changes
for captains and shipowners. As in the car sector in the past, the
only changes are a great increase in the driving fun, a precise
power control and, in the nautical field, a considerable reduction
in the gliding time of the boat.
Prima con il Rivarama 44’ e il Rivale 52’, poi con il Mercurius 59’,
in futuro per i nuovi modelli Ego 68’ e il Fly da 75’: Riva, tra i primi
cantieri al mondo, sta adottando per l’intera gamma delle proprie
imbarcazioni i nuovissimi motori diesel common rail prodotti dalle
tedesche Man e Mtu.
L’ingresso della tecnologia common rail nel settore nautico segnerà
una svolta rivoluzionaria nella qualità e nell’efficienza, analoga a
quella che, negli anni scorsi, mutò radicalmente in campo
automobilistico la concezione e le prestazioni delle vetture
motorizzate a diesel.
Il common rail, infatti, si caratterizza per una tecnologia in base
alla quale è possibile controllare la quantità, la pressione (più
elevata che nei diesel tradizionali) e l’istante di iniezione del gasolio,
che nei sistemi tradizionali sono fissi e determinati in fase di
costruzione. I vantaggi derivano dal fatto che con questa soluzione
si svincolano funzionalmente la pompa e gli iniettori, consentendo
alla prima di generare la pressione del gasolio indipendentemente
dalla sua quantità, di fornire tale pressione al “rail” e di regolarne
elettronicamente l’intensità attraverso una centralina dedicata. Si
ottengono così, oltre alla possibilità di iniezioni multiple, alta
pressione di alimentazione anche ai bassi regimi, grande
polverizzazione del combustibile con conseguente aumento della
coppia, riduzione dei consumi e delle emissioni. Dal punto di vista
del rispetto dell’ambiente, la possibilità di polverizzare in modo
ottimale il combustibile e iniettarlo in più fasi consente di avere
una riduzione significativa (orientativamente tra il 20% e il 40%)
di CO2 e CO.
Quanto alla gestione dei nuovi motori (MAN R6-800 CRM per il
Rivarama; MAN V8-900 CRM per il Rivale; MAN V10-1100 CRM
per il Rivale (optional) e il Mercurius; MAN V12-1360 CRM per il
Mercurius (optional); MAN V12-1550 CRM per il nuovo Ego 68’
e MTU 1524 per il Fly 75’), nulla cambia per comandanti e armatori.
L’unico vero mutamento, come avvenne a suo tempo in campo
automobilistico, è nell’incomparabile miglioramento del piacere
di guida, nel controllo puntuale della potenza e, in campo nautico,
nella significativa riduzione dei tempi di entrata in planata
dell’imbarcazione.
